OMG... somebody shoot me and put me out of my misery...... :crying: it is more humane to euthanize than to keep going through this torture  lol

I have spent the last 3 HOURS walking my not so computer savvy <thinking isnt he an indian> husband through the DS-230...... I guess what doesnt kill ya makes one stronger :P

ok.... so help me God... He will mail me this DS-230 packet today... <please GOD let him remember> (2) DS-230 signed part 1 only, (2) Birth Certificate, (2) PCC's, (1) Copy of passport<shhhh we wont tell him I already made a copy of it>, (8) passport photos.... he will mail this all to me and I will assemble it.... I think I might puke.... it is 1 am... my head is killing me... think I will try to go to sleep and not think about visa numbers in my sleep

you know what is bad... is that it is late so my nose is all stuffy... so I am trying to help him and say question 31a says bla bla bla

and then he was like... 41 what

I said no... 31a... you know 3 1.... he says oooo 21a..... arrrrrghhhhh 31a 31a 31a.....

isnt really his fault... it is mine, didnt know my voice would fail me... hehehe.... Is our life going to be this interesting when he is actually here? Guess we could argue over other things... like... who gets to shower first in the morning... who lets the dog out.... who gets to drive the car.. the name of our first born.... .......... Night Everyone!!

XOXOXOXOXO

That is so funny because my husband is definitely NOT computer savvy. I have been begging him to devote maybe 1 hour to completing DS 230 so when the time comes he will only have to sign it and send it to me. But no that isn't to be argh...I started to fill it in for him but still...Well I understand how you feel.

Mrs. Thomas

Ok--so I assumed we have officially moved base camp here.

I'm still in shock over the RFE. I really am. I was so prepared and had everything ready to go and I can't believe there's something wrong somewhere. I was hoping to receive the RFE email yesterday as to some indication of what they want but of course, they were closed and now we have to wait till Monday to receive it. I've spoken to my husband and we checked our package -- can't see what could be missing. We have the form, the barcoded letter, the 2008, 2007, 2006 taxes/W2, his employment letter, a copy of his USC passport, his last 6 months payment. I also spoke to my joint sponsor, he said he had the form, his proof of citizenship, his 2008, 2007, 2006 tax returns/w2/1099s. His employment letter and paystubs. He files taxes jointly as he is married but is way above the guidelines on his own for his household size so he used the individual amount on his W2. He also stated this on his cover letter and said the income used is his own solely as evidenced by his W2 so he didn't use a I864A from his spouse. He's a naturalized USC and he's been through this process before so I assume he knows how to fill in the I864 properly.

I'm honestly stumped as to what it could be. So now, I'm hoping it's something small like either one of them forgot to sign the form. Or maybe it's a false RFE. I wish it were Monday already and I could get through to a human being.

People--I need help. So far, this is the list of possible RFEs, I've come up with. I'm trying to cover all possible bases this weekend so we can send it out as soon as the RFE email comes in on Monday.

1) My husband filled his initial I-864 according to his 2008 taxes. He's been working at a new job from last September so his employment letter states a different income amount. Which is the amount that he should use for his current annual income on the I-864?

2) My joint sponsor sent a photo of his USC passport as proof of citizenship. Shouldn't this be enough or would they ALSO want a copy of his certificate of naturalization?

3) My joint sponsor files taxes jointly as he is married but is way, way above the guidelines on his own for his household size so he used the individual amount on his W2. He also stated this on his cover letter saying that the income used is his own solely as evidenced by his W2 so he didn't attach a I864-A from his spouse. Maybe they didn't understand this and RFEd because they saw different incomes on the tax return and the I864?

4) We didn't use W2s for 2009.

Any ideas/tips/suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

this probably wouldnt of been a bad idea...

4) We didn't use W2s for 2009.

I think that you should of included the W2's and 1099 for the current year.. I would def send them in with any RFE that you might of recieved.. I am kinda leaning towards that this could be a false RFE and that it could be something as simple as them misplacing a document

Any ideas/tips/suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

On a differents note... Hubby mailed me all the required documents today :dance::dance: but the bad news is it is Holi tomorrow so everything is going to be closed and he told me that it would be Wed before I recieve them :( SO looks like it will be Thur before I can mail out my package... I am thinking about mailing the AOS on Monday and then send the DS-230 later in the week.... Lets see

Sachi, I think it's going to be that your joint sponsor didn't include his wife's information. One of my friends was waiting for an F2B visa (unmarried child over 21). His mom, the USC petitioner, used one of her friends as a joint sponsor. He got an RFE for the friend's wife to fill out an I-864A and provide the related paperwork. Crazy, but easily resolved. If you're able to, you might want to have your joint sponsor's wife fill out and sign her own form in advance. If you get the letter and it turns out true, then you can send it immediately. If it's not true, then you can work on getting the NVC whatever it is that they want.

Good luck! March has St. Patrick's Day in it. It's got to be a lucky month for us all.

Ok, so I'll ask him for his wife's I-864 A. Would she require everything else like employment letter and stuff or will the form itself and the tax stuff that have already gone in be enough?

In that case he too will require a new I-864 and include his wife in the 24b section, I'm guessing?

She'd require proof of citizenship as well? Her marriage certificate?

Yes, ma'am. He'll need to redo his I-864 to reflect her as a member of his household and include her income there, too.

As for her extra documents, I don't think she'll need the whole shebang. The only thing required is tax returns, which she won't have to worry about because hers are the same as those of her hubby. She will need a birth certificate or passport or other proof of citizenship.

Ok, so I'll ask him for his wife's I-864 A. Would she require everything else like employment letter and stuff or will the form itself and the tax stuff that have already gone in be enough?

Melody -> here is a hint... tell your husband to mail the DS230 complete to you.

Also tell him to add some blank papers with his signature. This case if it's something wrong you can re-do the form and print on the top of his signature.

Tell him to sign in the same space where the signature goes on the DS230, you know?

This way you could print out a new form if you need to correct anything.

I don't know if I was clear... lol

let me know if you didn't understand =)

Make a new letter explaining the relationship between her, her husband, and your husband. As for the marriage certificate, I don't know. I'm not including one for my joint sponsor and her husband. Or maybe I will, just to be safe. Give me about 8 hours to adjust for the time difference between my friend and I, and I'll call and find out what he sent for you.

Sachi -> I'm so sorry for your RFE.

I was thinking that maybe they will ask your husband and co-sponsor's W2 for 2009 or maybe the transcripts for the past years.

You said they sent the returns/W2 etc and not mentioned the trasncripts...

I was advised before that they prefer the transcripts... I don't know if not sending would cause a RFE. But maybe tell your hubby to call the IRS and have the transcripts faxed, just in case you need them.

About the naturalization certificate, I don't think it causes RFEs since he sent the US passport copy. Plus you can even be a green card holder to be a co sponsor...

I don't know... just trowing out some ideas!

Good luck dear!
