It's some internal time tick, that 'magic day', back at NVC. There's stuff going on, prior, to the 'magic day'.

Remember - the Humans that you talk to, are NOT employees of NVC - they are CONTRACTORS from Serco, Inc, and don't have much power on their computer screen. THEY can get the DS-3032 kit emailed to you, also read whats on the screen back to you, and thats about it.

I have a couple of questions for all of you experts. My husband and I are on the slow track through NVC (on purpose). Since he is still putting together some of his paperwork and I am a school teacher, we are working for a June interview since we won't make it in time for April and with everything happening here at the school in May it's not a good month for me to go to Morocco. However, with June, I can be there for the interview and wait it out with my hubby. So, we are on the slow track for a couple of weeks.

That being said, here are my questions:

#1 What is the difference betweeen I-864 and I-864EZ? Is it only that the EZ form relies strictly on income on the W-2's? What are the limitations to filing the EZ form? IIRC, EZ not use assets

#2 With the DS-230 do we turn in part 2 to the NVC or does my husband hang on to that and bring it with him to the embassy? fill out part II, do NOT SIGN part II

#3 Is there a DS-230 that he will be emailed with the instruction package once the IV bill is paid or is it like the I-864 where we just print off the cover sheet and download the form from the Internet? (I will admit that there probably is an answer to this in the links Darnell gave me earlier this week...haven't had a chance to read them but will this weekend so if it's there then don't worry about this question.)

1st call- "No sir, we don't have your file from USCIS yet. You need to allow 2-4 weeks"

2nd call-"No sir, we don't have your file yet. You need to allow 90 days"

WTH?! It's getting longer with each call!! I really hope that's just the standard answer..."check's in the mail" kinda thing.

Well, she said my payment is still pending. She did tell me that they received my AOS and that they will be reviewing it over the next 2-4 weeks. I'm just glad they've opened it.

Thanks Darnell for answering my questions! I'm still unclear about one thing though...I understand my husband is to fill out DS230 part 2 but not sign...but do I mail part 2 into NVC with the other documents or does he keep it and bring with him to the interview?

I know your links have to be awesome...I promise to read them this weekend!!!

please! Because my AOS shows paid I was going to go in to the attorneys office to get my AOS packet out the door today. Well attorneys office called me back stating it's better to send in the IV Packet & AOS info at tge same time. Is that true or? Will also call NVC and see what they say.

Tatyana--You can send them together. Or you can send them separately. Doesn't matter, really.

Vanessa--Both part I and II will be submitted to NVC. However, ONLY part I will be signed.

Vanessa - send both part in. Part 1 signed, and part 2 completed but DO NOT sign - the beneficiary will sign part 2 during his/her interview at the US embassy.

Have you tried asking for help from your Senator? Again worst thing can happen is they will say no.

It's not worth the hassle to go through them....I got my case expedited through the USCIS and approved in 53 days with an RFE and sending the evidence from Kuwait. I think you have to be over "normal" processing times. I will just wait and see what the NVC says. They just received my packages yesterday...so hopefully a case complete within the next week or 2.

Thanks Sachinky! I called NVC (they picked up on first ring ) and was told yes I can submit separately. But attorney said they are not happy when they receive packets separately. Well anyways, going to go with what you are saying & NVC.

Well, since your AOS bill cleared and lord knows when the IV bill will clear, you might as well, send it in. If nothing, it'll give them 2 extra days with the AOS packet.
