This looks like a false notification. The problem is none of the operations are synced up at NVC. The operator has access to the most updated info. The AVR is usually lagging 1-2 days from what the operator can tell you. Looks like the emails are also out of whack and lagging. Suggest talking to an operator for the most accurate information.

Hey ViveKjay,

Apparently, you are correct about the NVC not being synched. Which is one of the reasons why I didn't want to bother the nvc operators too much unless it is a specific question that they can find answers to on their screen.

It looks like another poster, Edward toro, has experienced the same thing. Below is his timeline:

NVC Journey

Dec 4: wife's case was entered at NVC

Dec 9: Received the DS3032 and AOS Bill (I-864) by e-mail

Dec 10: Paid the $70.00 AOS Fee

Dec 11: $70.00 showed PAID. Printed cover letter and mail both next day DS3032 and AOS (I-864)

Dec 15: NVC Entered DS3032 and in their system.

Dec 17: IV Bill ($400.00) Showed at NVC's Payment Website (!!!!DO NOT PAY UNTIL YOU GET THE BILL FROM NVC!!!!)

Dec 18: Received IV Bill by e-mail and Paid IV Bill. STATUS: IN PROCESS

Dec 22: IV Bill Status: PAID Sending DS230 overnight.

Dec 23: DS230 SEND (next day service). I'm praying for NO RFE.

Dec 28: USPS site says that DS230 was delivered. No Info at NVC

Dec 30: CHECK LIST! "please send your DS230" What is this! call NVC was told to discard the Check List. allowed some time to process the mail.

Dec 31: AVR said check list was received..... I didn't send anything. Live operator said DS230 not in their system yet. NVC is complicated.

Jan 08: Sing in failed......wow thanks GOD.

Jan 11: CASE COMPLETE TOTAL TIME 24 BUSINESS DAYS OR 38 CALENDAR DAYS FOR CASE COMPLETE.

Feb 5: Interview date scheduled. Interview on March 23, 2010

THUS, FOR THOSE WITH PENDING CASES, PLEASE NOTE THAT EMAIL NOTIFICATIONS FROM NVC CAN BE 3-5 DAYS AFTER THE FACT. YES, THIS IS SO EVEN IF THE DATE ON YOUR CHECKLIST LETTER IS DATED AFTER DOCUMENTS HAVE BEEN SENT.

The difference between my case and the timeline above is that my AVR stated the checklist was received ( March 1 ) BEFORE arrival of the checklist EMAIL ( March 4 ). And based on prior experience from the timeline above assuming there is no RFE, I can expect to see a login failure sometimes next week.

So please VJers, I know we all are excited and want to be with our loved ones, but let's give NVC some time to enter data and update status. We may be a bit quixotic in our desires to have real-time report. My greatest fear has been that if you call the operators too much ( and yes, they do track the time and date you call for record purposes ) it is possible the operators could be giving hopeful answers that are not reality. In the case of a good operator having a bad day, s/he could give hopeless and temporized answers when the real answer is just days away. For example, sometimes the nvc operator and avr will say expect decision in 6-8 weeks, but in reality most are processed in 1-2 weeks.

Now I can see and understand the frustrations from those that have sent in BOTH I 864 and DS-230 together and receiving these un-synched and un-timely notifications.

Actually, my AVR stated the "NVC is awaiting biographic information ( ds 230 ) from the petitioner" about a week ago. Thus this checklist EMAIL came about 7 days late. IF THIS IS THE CASE I WOULD NOT BE AT ALL SURPRISED IF ANOTHER EMAIL ARRIVES TODAY OR TOMORROW STATING THEY HAVE RECEIVED THE CHECKLIST.

On a side note, the checklist confirms NVC has received the 864 aos and only waiting for ds 230.

I'm getting a little ahead of myself I know but I'm not sure how many copies of which forms need to be sent with the DS-230 stuff? I read here that the original DS-230 as well as one photocopy but LingChe's shortcut makes it sound like all the forms need an original and photocopy submitted? Really want to get all this exactly right on the first shot :D

I'm also not sure about the tax forms. If I submit three years of transcripts, do I still need a photocopy of my most recent year and do I still need to include w-2's ? I'm sure all of this is answered in these threads somewhere but I can't seem to find the right answers. I really do use the search button :D
