Sachi,

Why not? If you're willing to have one more set of papers to go with you on the interview day, then it can be there as a backup just in case.

I don't think you'd need it, though, with your joint sponsor and all. But Husby and I are big fans of "Just In Case" where this visa is concerned. If you don't use it, okay. If you do, kudos to you for having it there.

Have you called them yet?

I have been calling them everyday this week and found out they didnt get to my package till the 2nd. And even though the AVR says the NVC received my documents, the operators still say they cannot see them in the system and that only one of them is being reviewed.

I think I'm going to hold off for today and only call them tomorrow...

No, have not called them in a month. I've only used the AVR. My experience in dealing with government workers in generally is never to rush them or demand them to do things. Human errors can often be traced to intent. I trust systems more so than humans when it comes to following systems of doing things. If I don't get a failed login in about two weeks time I will call for an update.

I'm thinking that the 864 and DS 230 are processed by different people at different stages of the completion process. Thus, I suspect people that send in both together could run into problems with NVC before paperwork can be sorted.

My understanding is that the 864 is processed first, just as the 864 AOS bill was due first. Any other docs in between coulld cause delay in the shuffle. I made sure to send the AOS a week before the DS 230 so that things don't get mixed up.

Just a thought.

**** filed K3/CR1 concurrently. My wife and I both work/live overseas. The following timeline continues from the approval of the K3 VISA.

Gina--What does the email say? What do they need? Was it something on his PCC? I know they require court records for whatever is on the PCC, no matter how old it is, someone even had to get them for a traffic violation. I'd send it out with the email RFE. If they don't need it, they'll disregard it and you'll get a case complete. I don't understand what the supervisor is looking into? Either they need it or they don't. Why do they need 10-15 days to figure it out?

This is what the email says.........

_COURT RECORDS:_______________________________________________

Please submit court or prison records indicating the nature of this person's conviction and sentence.

These records should bear the official seal of the issuing authority.

[AW202/25/2010] TIA2**********

Ridiculously vague. He had a drunk driving ticket 10 yrs ago in London. We submitted the papers from that, the fine he paid and traffic school attendance. There was no jail time etc., We submitted PC's from Albania and the UK. So as far as I'm concerned we have submitted EVERYTHING. I have no idea what the problem is. So that's why a supervisor is "reviewing our documents". My husband seems to think the Albania PC isn't thorough enough, so he sent me a second, more detailed one. But none of the operators at NVC will give me ANY CLUE about what document they are talking about. If I knew it was the Albania PC, I would overnight it, but I am hesitant to confuse the already narrow minded NVC.

Ok, guys--I have a question. The Husband is starting a new job with a salary that will put him over the 2010 poverty guidelines. Should we have a new I-864 with the accompanying documents for the interview?

IMO - yes.

Bring it in on Interview Day.

Tell the Document Screener you have updated I-864.

Also mention to the VO there is new I-864 - please review it.

KEEP the co-sponser, though, just in case.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

No acknowledgement that the portal page is down, just that they have rec'd my payment and that it takes 3-5 days to process. Also, about my AOS, he said that it's probably just in the mailroom and I should call back tomorrow.

Meh, a lot of non-information.
