I know it's here somewhere but I can't find it. This isn't the right place to ask exactly but how are you packaging the forms for the AOS and DS230? Just a large clip? Folder with dividers? I'd like to have it all ready to go :)

Paper clips will do the trick.

Good luck =)

Melody,

Suddenly I'm not certain. It can't hurt anything to send it, especially if he's never been married so he couldn't have a divorce decree.

I was confused by the info (tons of it!) and got my info from the Bangkok office IV Instructions ( page 4 http://bangkok.usembassy.gov/root/pdfs/iv_...ckage_may09.pdf ) saying if Petitioner or Beneficiary has been married before then to submit the divorce decree.

I'm not sure if you're at Mumbai or Chennai, but I'm not seeing written the same way on their checklists. I'm sorry for my confusion.

Links FYI:

Chennai Checklist http://chennai.usconsulate.gov/pdfs/packet...cants091027.pdf

Mumbai Checklist http://mumbai.usconsulate.gov/media/pdf-vi...et_packet_3.pdf

I am at the New Delhi embassy... I read the link that you sent... and from the way it is worded... I dont think that I send one... I did... so I guess I will be the guinea pig and let everyone know how it works out

Aspasia,

This is also the site the Moscow embassy directs applicants to for which documents to prepare.

Kevin,

Lots of paperclips or those black clips. Whatever you send in -- folders, paperclips, black clips, binders, etc. -- is going to be taken apart and not returned to you anyway.

.....

One more hour until the 10 o'clock update. Woo!

There are 3 embassies in India? Wow! Does that mean dipolmatic relations are good or bad?

Thanks, already checked it out, looks like I am ok!

I think India is a large country with a huge population and a lot of visas to issue... probably easier to process them in 3 locations than in one :)

There are actually 5 of them. New Delhi embassy and Consulates in Chennai, Bombay, Calcutta and Hyderabad.

Only Chennai, New Delhi and Bombay process Immigrant visa applications.

5?! Thank you for that new fact. :star:

On a side note, what do you guys and your spouses think about when to have children? Husby is under the impression that he's going to come here and not more than a year later we will have Husby Jr. to join our family.

Another one...

Do you have to send the AOS package first? I know they can be sent together without an issue. Our AOS looks like it's going to take a few days (I'm not risking it. We're going to use our joint sponsor even if she takes her time with the documents.), but the IV package is ready to go as soon as we get the barcode sheet. Would sending the IV package first cause problems?

So, I just got off the phone with a *very* helpful USCIS agent! Spoke to a couple of them yesterday, and sorry to say it, they were not exactly the sharpest tools - gave me conflicting advice and didn't know what was going on.

She confirmed that they start scheduling interviews beginning the second week of the month for the following month because that's when they get appointment info from the embassies. It seems they schedule them until all the appointments for the following month are allocated, so sometimes it happens sooner, other times it happens later. I guess that means they'll start scheduling appointments March 8 for April :) Now it sorta makes sense why they wait till the second week (to get appointment info from the embassies), before it was sounding like a really weird NVC rule that made no sense at all :)

It's hard because it starts fast, then slows down then goes fast, then slows down again. At this point, every day seems like forever. I wonder how I made it waiting months for my NOA2.
