Sachi,

I don't know if e-mailing it immediately helps or not. It's what we did, though, and you can see where we're at. If it does, though, then we should update the guides.

Lash,

I'm not surprised. But everyone's different. We've had some unhelpful "help" and some great help when we've called NVC, including the husby who hasn't practiced his English in a few years. He was full of praise for the woman he spoke to.

Sachi, again,

I want on that darn list!!

And_Sam,

Thank you. Will they really call to verify? I'm the boss's assistant, so I'm the one who they'd get first. Can I just tell them it's correct? Hehe. Joking. ...Kinda.

Lunch in another 10 minutes. Anyone want anything while I'm out?

Tatyana--Here's my guess. He will need a Dubai PCC for his passport. And a PCC from his local police station, wherever he is currently living. What embassy will he interviewing at?

Hopefully, NVC can sort through the mail quickly. Stupid weather, screwing everything up.

Thanks for answering. How about a Police Clearance from local passport office? Thats where I am confused since his last passport was issued out in Dubai. He will be interviewing at Mumbai Embassy. You too right?

He'll also need the PCC from the local passport office since it's been more than 6 months since he's been in India (another VJer could verify this??). It wouldn't hurt to send in the Dubai passport PCC.

He all ready got a PCC from Dubai, waiting on the Indian one. But its the local passport office he needs to get & they might refer him Dubai since his passport was issued there. But actually he went today (last night) and their is a guy that can somewhat help him out so I guess we are good.

He might need a PCC from the local RPO as well. They're the one who stamp the passport with the clearance. I'd actually call NVC and clarify this issue. Shoot them an email too so you have some written proof of what they say. For Mumbai, some people get away with submitting one PCC to NVC and providing the other at the interview.

He will need one PCC from Dubai since that is where his passport was issued and he lived there as well. He will need one from his current residence local police station. Also check with your RPO--maybe they will need to clear it as well. They are the ones that stamp your passport with the clearance.

Sorry, but whats RPO? :bonk:

I have'nt gone through all the pages yet, so dont know if this has been answered. But he would have to get one from Dubai if he's been there for over 12 months, which he has. I know because my dad had to go through the same process. My dad actually had to make a visit to Dubai to get his fingerprints done there and only then did they issue a PCC....

Hope this helps

He has his PCC from in Dubai since about Nov. But strange why your dad had to go there. Hubby has friends that live there so he did everything in India & mailed to his friend who turned it in for him. Got it back & mailed back to my hubby. Took about 15days or so.

Heh hee...you can always answer the phone with not saying your name...my daughter does that because she works in a corp. office and they get a lot of sales calls. When I call her I disguise my voice and ask for her...She pauses before she ask "may I ask who is calling?" Heh heh...then she guesses. One of these days she is going to be wrong!

I don't know if they will call or not, but I do remember reading about it in the instructions and they don't actually list that it has to be from your last tax papers. I think you are good to go!

Quick question guys...

I had someone pm and ask if they should signing up for the email now, on the nvc site to get the case number. There is no NVC place that you sign up to receive emails right? I mean the only thing i know of is the payment portal site right?

Or am i wrong and dont know about it?

Hey everyone...

Well, I need to re-read the posts and catch up with everyone. My status: I called this am and was told via the AVR that "the NVC has received your packet of documents and have found items to be missing or incomplete, a letter was sent on March 2" So, I know it cant be the possible RFE on the DS230, as that was JUST received by them on Tuesday. I call and they say that message is wrong and that the AOS is fine. That they just waiting on the DS230...

So I went from :crying: to  back to  .. if I had ONLY not messed up the DS230, Id be good... still waiting for them to tear the DS230 down...

How is everyone! Going to read the days posts...

Hey everyone.

I woke up today and found email from NVC, its the appointment letter. The interview is April 12 at 830am. This works out great because I will have 3 week break from my clsses and will schedule wife to arrive on May 7.:dance:

And here is the phallic mushroom... They were popping up all over the place at the mini golf center!!! We had a good laugh... NOT so yummy though I would venture to guess!!!
well ppl.... I have come to the fact that I am suffering through some type of bipolar disorder <self diagnosed of course> and I am positive that my trigger is this immigration process.... I feel like that Katy Perry song : <humor me and hear me out (atleast you cant hear me singing it)> 'Cause you're hot then you're cold,You're yes then you're no,You're in then you're out,You're up then you're down,You're wrong when it's right,It's black and it's white,We fight, we break up,We kiss, we make up.......

Seems like my hubby... sent the package via fedex all along <why he told me DHL yesturday to freak me out I will never know> He gave me the tracking number this morning and the package has Left Memphis to be delivered to me by 4:30 today... woot woot...

So that means I am sooooo, happy, elated, joyful, cheery, extatic, over whelmed with joy, ...... wow thats sad cant think of nearly the same amount of happy words :P

My goal is to be on yall's list by tomorrow .....

Come on TEAM NVC NO RFE'S!!!!!!!!!

Alright, I'm going to send our DS-230 package today, pending "PAID" on my IV Bill. Please review my package to let me know if I'm missing anything, your help is very appreciated.

-My coversheet

-2 Passport photographs (name, DOB, Case number on back)

-DS-230 Pt 1 Signed

-DS-230 Pt 2 Unsigned

-Color copy of Passport Bio page

-Police Certificate and Copy

-Marriage Certificate and Copy

-Beneficiary's Birth Certificate and Copy

That's it. I hope it's everything. Do I get a cover sheet from the portal when my Bill says paid?

I have it all stacked in that order, except with the pictures in a plastic bag on top and the whole works is paper clipped together.

Thanks.

OMG. NVC, hurry up. They are now 5 business days behind with the mail? Seriously? GAH.

I think we all should start praying for interview scheduling to be extended for another week.

And I think they started scheduling early also. Yesterday there were a few new April Interview dates on the Immigration timelines pages. So they either just got dates or people waited a month to post them.

Every day that goes by this week I am getting a big fat brick in my stomach.

SIGH

go team nvc. blah.

:blink::blush::crying::innocent::whistle::thumbs:
