When the New year starts for you guys?

April 13th is the New Year for Thailand. There's a big celebration from the 13th to the 15th. It's super fun! Big water fights in the streets and all. There are a lot of migrant workers who are from the other provinces, but work in Bangkok. They all return home for the New Year, so there's lots of family interactions and good food and warm feelings.

I'm not sure if Cambodia starts on the same day or not, though. It looks like it's around the same time, though, from Tharnsur's calendar.

About the SSN.... yeah... I will wait and if I don't get a new one, I'll go to the SSN office to see what's going on.

My card says: Valid for work with DHS authorization only. (or something like that)

They will give you a new one with the same number that doesn't say that anymore.

I've been very stressed this weekend. Dealing with my joint sponsor who is now refusing to send his copy of his AOS package (with 2009 tax returns) to me for the interview since he's already sent them in to NVC. He's citing "privacy concerns" regarding his "confidential information." He wants official confirmation before he sends any "irrelevant or unnecessary paperwork" my way.

#######. I don't know what to do anymore.

Any ideas?

Wow, I would have thought that NVC would have needed your co-sponsor AOS papers before completing your case (???). In any case, that blows! will this affect your interview date??? hope not!!!

Hobo--Our case was completed at NVC. He did send in his papers to them. He just doesn't want to send me a copy of that packet because he has reservations regarding his private and confidential information. While the rest of the stuff is presumably already at the consulate(sent from NVC), his 2009 taxes were NOT sent to NVC since those packets went in in February. I will need that for the interview since it will be past April 15 and there are good chances that they will be asked for.

Furthermore, it is also a good idea to carry copies of EVERYTHING that has been submitted so far in this entire process.

I sent our I-864 package and DS230 package off today, overnight via the post office. Guaranteed to be there by noon tomorrow.

They never sent anything to me or my husband via snail mail. All HE got was an email saying that they were waiting for the I-864 & DS230 packages to be sent in...?

I took that as my cue to send them in...

Hey nice to see you posting again! ok I didnt wait to get any AOS emails or snail mail, as recommended by some of the folks here. After I got my AOS paid, I sent off the I-864 form (w/ 2007-2009 taxes, bank statements, pay stubs, employment letter, screen shots of my checking/savings/investment accounts) today via express mail. I'm still waiting for some kind of email confirmation of my DS-3032 agent form that i emailed using the lingche template (did it last thursday nite). apparently it would take 3-5 biz days for them to accept it. in any case, my wife's fedexed me the signed hard copy and i should be getting that in a day or 2 and will send that in too to be on the safe side (hopefully i'll get the email accepted and IV bill generated by tuesday/wednesday)...i'm gonna give it a day or 2 before calling NVC and bugging them about the ds-3032...

Perfect! No need for a cue. Heads up, both go to seperate departments, so as they finish with your AOS package, they will more than likely issue you a false RFE indicating that they are waiting for the DS230. Strange little glich that freaks people out.

good to know, as i just sent out my aos package out today (express o/n; so they should have it tomorrow)!!!

You have a SSN right? So what are we suppose to do? I marked on the DS230 that I want to receive a new card in the mail and wrote my number. Do we have to go to the SSN office and get it updated? Or if we have the GC we are good to go?

amiga I marked no in that question.. I will go directly to the SS office to update the status of the card.. in your case as you marked yes you will need to wait for the card to arrive or when you go to the interview or the POE something can be change
