Called the NVC today and they confirmed they received the case on the 25th. She said it is an "expedited case"....and that it will be sent to consulate in Dublin as soon as its processed. She would not give me case number over the phone but said that our receipt number would link us to the case. Question....is everyones case "expedited" or could it be because I contacted my congressman and senator, one of which "finally" got back to be and I had to fill out forms for them to inquire about our case......?? anyone had experience with this?

K-1s don't spend any more than 48 hours at the NVC unless it's pulled into random AP. It is not inputted into the AVR -- however, you can get your case number from an operator. Cases are never expedited because of a Congressman/Senator--they're only expedited in cases of humanitarian reasons/military deployment/emergency situation.
