HI,

Just read that Common RFE forum. My husband lived in the same place since birth - I put his birth year to present for question 30 - places you've lived. I'm reading now you need since 16. Should I change it to start at 16 or can I leave the birth from date?!?!

12 hours. Damn. I'm pushing 24 and Nothing. Sighhhh!

Yah, my husband did same thing (cept the part where he put birth to present. and then his present address to present.. arg. But I read somewhere on the RFE thread that a RFE was given when a gal didnt calculate her 16th birthday right. I was going to change our DS230 (when they ask for it ) to his 16th birthday to his most current address, but Im not thinkin they care if you start from birth date. UGH! WHO KNOWS! Im losing my mind over here.

OK everyone... I need your input.

Do I send an amended DS230 or not? If I rush now, I can get it in the Fedex by 430. OR should I wait until they ask? My paranoid self is thinking "what if they find something else? and then another RFE would be made, and then Ill have a total of 3 RS230 forms floating around which could cause them to freak out and delay me indefinitely!

Im taking a poll. All in favor of me sending today! All in favor of me just waiting for the NVC to ask...

Ats--I'd wait till the end of the week. At that point, if they do issue a RFE, well, you're gonna miss March scheduling anyway. Who knows, they might STILL accept it?

Suggestions to noobs:

1) Have the beneficiary mail SIGNED extra DS230s to you so that you have them handy in case something goes wrong. Or you get hit by a dreaded RFE.

2) If you just received your NOA2, THIS is the time to get your tax stuff and police certificates sorted out. Don't waste time on this.

Welcome Kevin-n-Merlaine! Congrats on your NOA2! Check out LingChe's guide if you haven't yet. Even if you have, running through it one more time can't hurt. Are you ready? Things are about to start going quickly.

Sachi,

I'm happy to see that you did it from birth and haven't had a problem. I think I'm still going to call and wake the husby up at 5 am, though. He has been given two tasks throughout this process: 1. Sign the forms I send you and send them either to me or to the appropriate authorities (for the police certificates). 2. Get your immunizations up-to-date. While he has done Task Number 1 quite well, he's intimidated by needles and has thrown every excuse there is at Task Number 2. No more, Darling; today's the day. Go to the clinic on your way to work.

Thanks Bears :) I had my wife send me (via DHL) her police certificate and DS-230 yesterday. I already have all the other documents. I ordered tax transcripts last month. After I get those docs from her, I should be all set. I've gone over LingChe's shortcut a million times and have all the documents gathered so I PRAY this will go smoothly!!

Yah, you're probably right. Im sure I missed the March scheduling. Especially since they still havent even reviewed the AOS. I just hope things havent been messed up horribly because of this simple mistake. Anyone with half a brain could figure it out. But you know the NVC! They are sticklers on the slightest thing.. Thanks Sach...

BTW, have they accepted your DS230?

Yup! You should get in about a week. Once you get that, you can access the payment portal on the gov website but entering your case number and the invoice number you will receive on the email they send. Then you can pay your AOS fee! Meanwhile, might as well get the docs together for your I-864 and DS230 so you can have them all ready to go and out the door once prompted to do so.

Kevin--Congrats and welcome. Hope you're ready for this ride.

Tatyana--Congrats. Paying for your lawyer means you get to bypass the DS3032. Your lawyer is automatically designated as the agent. You will be receiving the bills in 3-5 days. Have your $470 ready and your documents ready to go, go, go as soon the payment clears in 1-2 days. Good luck, girl.

Ats--My DS230 was inputted into the system on the 18th and when I asked the operator yesterday to check thoroughly incase something else was missing, she said that everything was complete and accurate. They were just waiting for the bank statements to come in. I don't think there is an "acceptance or approval" for NVC -- it's under review and/or complete. I think the RFEs come in about 5 days after the packages go in, otherwise you're safe, I'd imagine.
