Hello all, our case just hit the NVC on the 25th of February but since they have been closed since then I guess we will be in March. Since this is my first time on the message boards, I am not quite sure what is expected of me. If someone could give me a run down I would appreciate it greatly, thank you.

Hi! and Welcome to the March NVC thread. Do you have a case number yet? Best to start a timeline now. We can get you goin from that point. If you dont have a case number yet, call the NVC and get it. Next give them email addresses so you can get off the snail mail trail and receive communication via email. That is the first step!

Also, as you can see from a lot of our timelines, things move very quick. Mine entered the system First part of February, and Im pretty much complete (aside from my possible RFE  )

Question: How important are these ATTN lines?

My RFE was sent without any ATTNs because I didn't know what to use. Just found out that it should be ATTN: DR for RFEs.

For AOS it's ATTN: CMR AOS and for the DS230 its ATTN: CMR?

Sooo... paid the AOS Bill this morning and the IV Bill wasn't invoiced yet. Said so at the payment portal. Now, I can click the little box and probably pay the $400 if I wanted to -- and I want to -- but still no IV Bill e-mail. Pero, the payment portal will take my money. Can I give them more money yet, or do I really HAVE to wait like LingChe says?

I paid it as soon as I was allowed. From how I understand, it wouldnt be available to pay on the portal unless it was invoiced, so I say your good to go! I paid mine as soon as it allowed me to!

Sachi,

It'll get to the right place. Like in the office if the mail's not specifically addressed to me but my co-worker gets it and goes "Oh! This is for Bear, it's not for me." May take a little longer, but it'll get where it's going.

That's what I'm thinking too. I mean it does have REQUEST FOR EVIDENCE RESPONSE printed in huge fonts right on top of our cover sheet. Kind of hard to miss. Ok, I'll keep my fingers crossed.

For all of us. Come on, NVC. Step up the game.

I too paid my IV bill as soon as it was invoiced. Payment cleared in 12 hours. Email was in our inbox soon after.

HI,

Just read that Common RFE forum. My husband lived in the same place since birth - I put his birth year to present for question 30 - places you've lived. I'm reading now you need since 16. Should I change it to start at 16 or can I leave the birth from date?!?!

That's what I'm thinking too. I mean it does have REQUEST FOR EVIDENCE RESPONSE printed in huge fonts right on top of our cover sheet. Kind of hard to miss. Ok, I'll keep my fingers crossed.

RFE (Request For Evidence) NOTES from the LingChe guides:

Stay on top of your case during your stay in NVC so you catch an RFE as soon as it pops up.

IF YOU ARE NOT SURE THAT YOU HAVE AN RFE, USE CAUTION. The RFE advice below is under review. A VJ member has reported that they know of instances where sending in RFE information has delayed cases. We are waiting for specific information on these instances, and until such time we caution all users of the guide to use their best judgement in responding to a "possible RFE".

If you review your packages, you might even find an RFE before NVC does, and can send the correction at anytime.

When reviewing your package, it's helpful to know some common RFE as linked here as well as searching the forums.

If you are issued an RFE, send the required documents.

IF YOU CONFIRM WITH NVC THAT YOU HAVE AN RFE, DISREGARD THE WARNING ABOVE.

BARCODED cover sheet you printed from the website, but when addressing your package, change the Attention line from "ATTN: CMR" to "ATTN: DR"

Your own Cover Sheet listing the documents you're sending and reason.

Include the documents missing or corrected based on operator suggestion and your own common sense.

Dawn, my husby is the same. He lived at the same place from the time he was born (literally, the second he was born) until 2007. I'm calling him in an hour, waking him up, and getting him to redo the DS-230 for me.

Sachinky I think you are fine. Looks like its the same two or three mail room folks who accept these packages in a common mail room and then forward it to the appropriate department.
