Okay, this is technically Mr. Sachinky's favorite memory but it's mine too so it works. This is from the summer of 2008. It was our first summer together, school had just gotten out. Mr. Sachinky and I are huge soccer fans so we decided to go to East Rutherford and watch an international friendly between the U.S. and Argentina at the Meadowlands/Giants stadium. Our first weekend away as a real couple. We drove to New Jersey from Ithaca, New York, booked into the Sheraton across the stadium, where we got great rates on a room.

Turns out the teams were staying at the hotel too so we got to hang out with them in the bar which was uber-cool. The match was incredibly good fun. We made friends with the crazy drunk Argentines sitting all around us and cheered every slick move on the field in our broken Spanish. It started raining, pouring actually. We were soaked but we stayed through till the end. It was just amazing, the rain and the chanting and the sheer joy everywhere. Then we walked back to the hotel with our newly made friends, completely drunk, cutting across cars on the street, absolutely drenched in the rain but thoroughly happy.

Ended the night with room-service in bed. ;)

Best.Day.Ever.

OK, now THAT would be Mr. Atsleumas's favorite memory too. We are both BIG soccer fans and he LOVES Argentina. WOW! What a day that was... very cool! Thanks for sharing... I'm actually planning a surprise trip in June to Vegas with him so we can watch Argentina play in the World Cup.

Did your AVR change that it was processed or did you talk to the operator?

I listened to AVR and it said missing or incomplete information blah blah.. so I thought it must be for my AOS. So to make sure I called an operator and she said 'your AOS is accepted and they are waiting for DS230'. I still can't believe they accepted my AOS with the mistake i made.. but i want to believe the operator.

Wow. How long will it take to fix that?

I'm beginning to be very thankful that the people issuing my PCCs made me read over the wording/names/dates on the document before signing/stamping it.

Luckily, I am able to get the fix one on Monday?!

Ouch. If you are doing Electronic Processing, then the process of 'scanning it in , in China, to email to YOU' should be easy.

Major suck, though, on this wrong date.

was it the certificate itself, or the notarial translation into english, that had the wrong date on it?

You know the drill, ya? Time to go back to the PSB, get it done again. Your spouse MIGHT be able to get it done for free, and 'faster' - if the date is wrong - have to 'go fast' though (if possible).

Good Luck !

---

China Electronic Processing NVC EP

Yep, I am doing the EP. And, unfortunately, the notarial translation into English had the wrong date on it.

I am able to get the correct one on Monday via EMS, hopefully?!

Good luck to me!!

Most memorable/special times with hubby are during the first trip to India.

Wearing a sari for the first time while at hubby's sisters wedding. That was one intresting experience on its own. But funny part of the story was hubby helping me put on the sari.

5 hour train ride from Mumbai to Boroda.

The food street vendors. Tried this one yummy thing but forgot the name (hubby is sleeping to ask).

Riding the taxi just about gave me a heart attack each time.

And I loved how every evening when the weather cooled down we would get on the motorcycle & drive down this road where there wasn't much traffic & a nice breeze. Sometimes we would stop by this local little bar. They too had some amazing appetizers.

Ahhh, I miss India. Can't wait to go back & take our daughter with us to experience that part of the world.

One thing Husby has shown me is just how big soccer is. And I totally don't understand the game at all. I remember reading How Soccer Explains the World for my International Relations class and I still didn't get it until I saw how Husby and his friends and, really, the entire nation were so crazy about it. Whoda thunk? Good book, by the way.

Most memorable/special times with hubby are during the first trip to India.

Aww! I wish I could've seen that! I'm always so amazed to see women wearing saris. Like... how do you take a piece of fabric and turn it into something to beautiful. Without it falling off, no less.

Same question of monk's robes, but I'm certain I'll never find out.

And the taxis!! Yes!! Same here. But Husby drives about the same, so I don't know which is worse. laughing.gif

I too was amazed. Actually the local girls that wear saris often & have experience wore laughing at me because I kept on walking & holding the sari up in the front because I was afraid of tripping on it & falling. Also, they wear underskirts or something underneath the sari because the beads and/or material is kind of itchy but I didnt know this. When I took of the sari I was like scratching myself for awhile also the sari was so heavy. I felt so light afterwords. But anyways, loved loved wearing it!

HA I FRICKEN KNEW IT!!! After that operator told me yesterday to take a leap and not call back until April 16th, I talked to a really nice operator today and Tina's interview is May 3rd. At least we have a date. Now I'm calling on Tuesday to the embassy to try to reschedule it sooner. Worst they can say is "no".

Woot Woot!! So happy that you atleast have a date... I am sooo itching to call the NVC back and play stupid... think it will work?

So I want to know.... What's the best memory you've made with or have of your partner?

Well, I have so many awesome memories... wouldnt know how to pinpoint just one down.. so I will share about the first time we met :P

I had gotten off the plane in Delhi to be welcomed by the heat and humidity :P went to collect my bags in the midst of a bunch of cranky buisness men that wouldnt let me get though to grab my things.. so the oo not so patient me starts trying to elbow my way inbetween the ppl.. finally a nice older guy squeezes in and collects my things for me!! Woot Woot... so now I am off to find my love... after you leave the lugage terminal it takes you to this ramp that leads you straight outside... All along the side of this ramp there are hundreds of ppl waiting, some with signs some just standing waiting for there loved ones... at the bottom of the ramp there were police or military looking men standing there with big #### rifles hanging over thier shoulders... I am assuming this is to keep the large crowd from running up the ramp... well, low and behold my crafty sneaky man had somehow gotten pass the guards and was the only one standing at the bottom of the ramp... <sigh> he was sooo cute... standing there with the biggest smile I think I have ever seen a humane possess.. we quickly greeted eachother, and he helped me with my bags... we got out of the crowd but he told me to wait on the street corner while he went to get the car... No issue right??? Well about 45 min later I had decided that he had left me there.. That he had taken one look at me... and then flew the coop < > I was just about in tears thinking... well... where in the hell am I going to spend the night... when he drives up as if nothing was wrong... He took one look at me and asked what was the matter... Not wanting to tell him that I thought he had left me.. I said... Ohh.. just the heat and the fumes are getting to me... It wasnt too much longer that I realized... you cant go anywhere quick in Delhi... just isnt possible unless you are walking... hehehehe... sometime after we got married I told him that I thought he had left me at the airport... he was like  'say whaaaaat?'
