:ot: kinda...

So tell me if any of you go thru this...

When I tell people about my husband, what we are going through with immigration, the amount of time we have spent together compared with the time we have been apart, etc, mostly I get these looks  and then an occasional, "wow" and often a "why didnt you just marry someone here" and yesterday I even got a "is he worth it"

Very few people understand this process, what we go thru and I am so happy to have you guys here on VJ- to relate to. "is he worth it"???? I asked her, "wouldnt your husband be?" dumb broad...

Alicia, it's coming, hon. We're not idiots because we hope; we're just nuts.

Waiting, it's log in fail. When you go to sign in on the Payment Portal and it tells you "this case is no longer available for processing at NVC." I think I'm gonna print a screenshot of mine just for kicks. If it'll just happen already!

So today I'm thinking about Chinese for lunch. Anyone else?

In regards to you :ot: topic: I've learned to not even bring up my husband, if possible, to people that don't matter. All they see is me by myself with my son. They assume that his father is not in the picture. Most don't even know that I'm married. No one would take this process as seriously as we do because they are not going through it. But I'm not worried and I've passed caring what other people think. My hubby and I know that our love is real and this process is just making us stronger so that we can appreciate each other more once we are together.

:ot2:

WHAT?! "Is he worth it?" Heck, yea!! Who goes around asking things like that? Immigration and how-do-you-decide-the-worth-of-a-person aside, you married him. If he wasn't good for you, that wouldn't have happened. Let alone your taking on the circus of US immigration. Geez! Some people!!

My favorites are the ones who go "How do you know he's not just in it for the green card?" Please just shut your mouth and walk away. It's like Thumper's mom: If you don't have something nice to day, don't say anything at all. If you're honestly interested in knowing the answer, at least find a better way to ask. Ask about our future living plans or if he wants to become a citizen. Or if you're genuinely concerned that I'm getting scammed, please just say so. There's no need to judge my husband before you've even met him. But I guess that's part of the problem. I don't have this really warm, confident flesh-and-blood man for them to meet. And if you're not going through it, you can't understand to the same degree.

I agree. You guys are absolutely amazing! Thank you.
