so guys,

are you expected to bring a copy of your police certificate to the interview?

how can you if yours comes sealed, is sent to the NVC sealed, and then forwarded to the embassy sealed?

we never see the document.

so the embassy should already have it correct? so you don't need to take one to the interview?

I feel bad for revealing the following information after reading the previous posts. I was checking one-way tickets from Aruba to NYC in June for various dates and they were coming in at $196, $210, etc. I have sent in all my documents and I am keeping my fingers crossed for no RFE's and an interview date no later than June. As soon as that visa is delivered, we will book a flight a few days later. We've been apart for too long for crying out loud.

I am an undergrad petitioning for my husband in El Salvador. Obviously I do not have any income to sponsor him. I submitted I-864 with my parents as joint sponsors, but there is a little problem. My father's income has been for the last three years around (26,000/ 25,000/ 27,000, but this year (2009 income tax returns) his income was low at 12,180 due to investments he made in a new business he started. Any comments on how this could be a problem and how I could better explain it) I have payment stubs for my mother for this year and stubs of money that has gone in to my father's business for this year. Should I just go ahead and submit the 2009 income tax returns, with 2008 and 2007 and explain at the consular embassy??? ANY ADVICE PLEASE

Also my parents file jointly and I probably made some mistakes when I first submitted my I-864, any advice on how to deal in a situation where a couple files jointly.

And lastly, I do not live in my parents home, they live in Texas, while I reside in Chicago (my residence is paid for by a scholarship), yet they declare me as a dependent...Am I considered part of their household size in my father's form I-864.

ANY ADVICE IS GREATLY APPRECIATED

if the 3 of you combined are sponsors and make enough money to qualify, you don't have any problems.

but you have to show proof of all 3 of your incomes as current. (example pay stubs for all of you)

and probably some bank statements showing how much money you have.

sounds like you guys may not be making enough money though....see what your combined income is!!

I know that alaska airlines is SUPPOSED to have a direct flight from Hawaii, but everytime I try to book online it shows routed through seattle or portland) I have flown to the PI twice from alaska. Both times I went from Fairbanks - Seattle - Tokyo - Manila....same on the return trip...but on the return trip I had like a 12 or 13 hour layover in Seattle...I just flew standby though and made it out of Seattle before noon both times (arrived in seattle from Japan at 7am)

I dont want Mhay to have to do customs and then try and find her way through Seattle without me. I know she could do it, but it is less stress if she just has to wait in Taipei for a couple of hours and then get on another flight directly to Anchorage where I will be to pick her up.

I'm in Seattle! Seattle is fun! If your wife wore to have a long layover in Seattle, let me know. I can help.

Need some input on the Police Clearance Certificate. Are we required to submit it with the DS-230 package? Can we just take it to the interview? If we do not submit it to NVC, is an RFE guaranteed? We applied for a PCC in Hyderabad, India and the say it will take about 45 days!!!!!!

Any input from anyone is greately appreciated.

Yes, you are absolutely required to submit a Police Certificate to NVC. You need to send and include it together with your DS230 packet, otherwise you'll definitely get an RFE for that..and also, you need to bring another one during the interview.

Is there no other way to get the PCC earlier than 45 days?sad to hear about that..but maybe you can ask Sachinky for specific details about getting a PCC 'cause shes from india..Good luck to you.. :)

We have no other choice but use China Airlines again. Seattle is fine but of course it's a long flight , so we will choose the shorter route

For India, you will need two PCCs, unless your passport is less than 6 months old.

One from your local PS for your current residence. And one more from your passport issuing RPO.

Applicants from Chennai and Bombay were able to get by with submitting one for NVC and providing the other at the interview but Sean John's case proves that this trend is no longer applicable.

Both PCCs MUST be submitted to NVC in order to get a CASE COMPLETE.

You can send your packet in and then wait for them to RFE you. Respond to the RFE with those PCCs. But yes, get on them right away.

I got my PCCs while waiting for our NOA2. They are valid for 1 year for embassy purposes. Took 3 weeks for the PS one and 1 week for the RPO PCC.
