I see airline tickets to Chicago for $680 for May. I really want to buy one now.

that's a really good price!!! Can you buy one and change the date later? How much would it cost to do that? On second thought you better wait since Mr Sachinky may visit and it would be a shame to fly home on separate flight.

Ok, Alicia. I did. Got through quickly to an operator after several minutes of a busy signal.

She confirmed that our case has completed processing at NVC and then read off a script regarding the whole "second week interview scheduling for the following month" blah blah. I kind of giggled at how scripted the whole thing was.

Anyway, so Bombay IS totally booked for April. "Unfortunately, there are no more available dates in April." She said that they are currently waiting a go-ahead from the Bombay consulate and then NVC will schedule our interview date.

She said to call back on the second week of April. The petitioner and beneficiary both will be notified via email.

Did she tell you if they decided when the second week of April is?

Funny that you said that if my hubby and I go to Barbados on the same day, one of my flights will stop in Dominica and he will be getting on board. Whoever is sitting next to me better get the hell up!

I checked China Air's website last week just for grins and they had one way tickets MNL to LAX for $537 + tax. I think it was $613 total for the whole month of May

Yeah I was checking their site the other night and for the tuesday flight to Anchorage it was $800 and some change with the stop in taipei. the thursday flight was like 1500 for a 1 way. I will have my wife talk to a travel agent down there too. Her friend has another friend that works in a travel agent. So we will see which way is better/cheaper

Go directly to the airline's website. the search engines like expedia are good, but I always go directly to the airlines and see what they charge for the same flight. I know most of the search engines I have seen dont come up with the China Airlines flight I am looking at for my wife...or if it does, it is like 3-400 more!
