Really? I read in some threads that if they had a K4 in the petition it would be forwarded to the Embassy and allowed K3/4.

So NVC will just leave the kid behind? Just like that?

ps- She just got approved in March. So I guess she has no hope?

Sorry, 2/01/10 is important date for K-3 filers.

If the K-3 left NVC prior to that date, then there is some hope.

If after that date - and IF the K-3 and I-130 travel together (ie - approved on same day)

then that K-3 will be administratively closed at NVC. Sorry.

IF the K-3 approval date is BEFORE the I-130 approval date - yup - there is some hope.

However - tell yer friend to call in to NVC, get a human, and inquire.

re: reading in threads - read again, check carefully for dates before or after 2/01/10 - this date is important, you betcha.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

-=-=-=-=-=R E A D ! ! !=-=-=-=-=-

Whoa Nelly ! Want NVC Info? see http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process

Congratulations on your approval ! We All Applaud your accomplishment with Most Wonderful Kissies !

Thanks Darnell.

I just talked to her and she said her husband called NVC operator and they told him that they 'cancelled' her K3 and it has to be CR1 now.

The weird thing is that the woman told him to send a new I-130 to NVC and then they would process both (wife and daughter) together with only one AOS fee.

It doesn't make any sense..... she has to apply tru USCIS first right?

He will call them again once he gets off work.

ps- both petitions were approved together in March. So no hopes for a K3.

28 may 7 am.. 2 months to relax

Congrats!! at least you have some time to relax and get stuff together for the interview. No more wondering when now. Just wait for the time.

I wish I could buy a ticket now to be there for my wife's interview...but I cant get time off. It's looking like she will probably join me the last week of May. We will wait to buy a plane ticket until we know that she gets the Pinkslip from the embassy. that will give us some time to still find a good deal on tickets and for her to get her affairs in the PI in order.....and some time for it to warm up in Alaska :P:D

Ok, Alicia. I did. Got through quickly to an operator after several minutes of a busy signal.

She confirmed that our case has completed processing at NVC and then read off a script regarding the whole "second week interview scheduling for the following month" blah blah. I kind of giggled at how scripted the whole thing was.

Anyway, so Bombay IS totally booked for April. "Unfortunately, there are no more available dates in April." She said that they are currently waiting a go-ahead from the Bombay consulate and then NVC will schedule our interview date.

She said to call back on the second week of April. The petitioner and beneficiary both will be notified via email.

I checked China Air's website last week just for grins and they had one way tickets MNL to LAX for $537 + tax. I think it was $613 total for the whole month of May :)
