change ((( ATTN: DR )) if sending an RFE

fixed it...guess the formatting of the forum messed it up...I'm sure that most people would have known it was 31 Rochester AVE...but just wanted to make it look right. (it showed ATTN: CMR 31)

I finally got all caught up on this thread...spent all day yesterday away from a computer because of a trainging exercise we had here. Cant wait to be done with the military...only about 5 1/2 more years!

that is always a good idea to do it... behind pictures and on copies of the documents.

BUT question is for original documents -

For Indian applicants, it is hard to get the original documents one more time.

Is it ok to put NVC case numbers on the original documents for Indian applicants?

Is it possible for one of the Indian applicants here to respond who has case complete or DS230 sent or have interview scheduled?

What about the pics? when I sent my ds230 I was told that I have to write the case # back in all of pictures!

So,some "fun" news from me.

I took my Embassy like a week and a half to get back to me with an (absolutly useless) answer to my Q's about the medical exam.

Yesterday my hubby sent them an e-mail (before I found it myself) asking the same thing. Within 24 hours he had a reply, which contained the names and numbers to all the doctors that I could go see.

So, I can only recommend that the USC asks the Q's to the embassy, haha.

The very promt reply could have something to do with him e-mailing them from a goverment e-mail address, but come on, eventhough it took them longer to respond to me, we still should have gotten the same info - right?

Just gotta laugh at it though...

Good luck to everyone still waiting for a LIF/CC!!

In Brazil its different. They are more polite with me than hubby (USC). Can you believe a woman yelled at him on the phone?

Every time I sent emails in Portuguese they answered within 24hs. Hubby always takes 2 days to get the replies.... God knows.....

Well I didn't do that. I just put the two passport photos in a small passport photo envelope, wrote my husband's name on the envelope and attached it (with a paper clip) to the front where it would be seen when they take everything out.

Talk to Sachinky... I think she made the suggestion to just put a post-it note on those documents with the case number...that way it could be removed easily.

Yeah well I didn't want to not have something that they asked for and then they RFE me.

Maybe they need to revise their DS-230 forms and have an instruction/requirements section before the forms like there is in the I-864.

Yah, i can see how it seems you need to send both - but you dont. Its just the applicant and anyone else accompanying them to the states. Not the Pet. I dont blame you for sending it though if you thought you needed to. Better to just send and have them NOT need it, then need it.

Alicia my friend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HEY! I am.. slowly losing my mind... but hangin in there chica. I know we both probably wont hear until next week. The waiting is UGH!!!!! I just pray theres not another RFE.... I mean, we should be ok, right? I even went thru all my paperwork all over again.. LOL

Maybe they need to revise their DS-230 forms and have an instruction/requirements section before the forms like there is in the I-864.

I was thinking the same thing! I mean.. it seems JUST as tricky as the I864 if you ask me, but to not include an instruction sheet makes room for error! The lame instructions on the website are so wishy-washy.

Pheww... Thank God you wrote that, cause I was slowly starting to freak out over not sending my birth certificate....

I feel like I'm going to need a vacation in a nut house after this process....

naw - your good. I promise... they want applicants stuff only and any accompanying member (not a USC) Remember the petitioner proved their residency with the original petition.

actually yours was approved right under 100 days. Ours took 4+ months :(

Mine just got approved last week, ie 5 months+ (uscis rec date was oct 6th 2009; approval march 16th 2010)! i would have killed for 100 day approval.

The 1 problem i noticed with the timelines, while informative, is that it almost puts you in virtual competition with everyone else. seems like you're in a race. if you havent gotten something by a certain date, makes you feel like you're behind. which of course makes you feel even worse when you're away from your loved one.

i stopped watching the timelines after a certain point. figured that i'd spur the process on my own, which started by asking uscis an expedite (once my 5 month point was up)on march 9th and following up with infopass appointment on march 15. after i went to infopass, i found that my case was being worked on since the 2nd! for whatever reason, it was just taking that long. and then they ended up approving the next day after my infopass (on 16th). so i dont know if the expedite and infopass apts did anything at all...sometimes things just take their time...just have to put your faith in God and ask Him to speed things up!
