So,some "fun" news from me.

I took my Embassy like a week and a half to get back to me with an (absolutly useless) answer to my Q's about the medical exam.

Yesterday my hubby sent them an e-mail (before I found it myself) asking the same thing. Within 24 hours he had a reply, which contained the names and numbers to all the doctors that I could go see.

So, I can only recommend that the USC asks the Q's to the embassy, haha.

The very promt reply could have something to do with him e-mailing them from a goverment e-mail address, but come on, eventhough it took them longer to respond to me, we still should have gotten the same info - right?

Just gotta laugh at it though...

Good luck to everyone still waiting for a LIF/CC!!

Awesome!

You are interviewing in Frankfurt right?

It's a nice consulate, hubby used to work there.

If your wife (she is the non-USc right?) has some extra time there she should visit a bar called O'Dwyers, lovely place! (Used to work there  )

Hi,

We checked the same with the operator, he said, place the cover sheet with barcode on top of the documents, that will serve the purpose.

Haha, that's right, I think I read in one of your post's that you guys met in Germany, right? Wifey's not a drinker, but I'll mention it to her anyway. The tough part for her is that it's like a 6 hour train ride for her to get to Frankfurt, so she'll have to go the night before.

dear, my hubby sent the inquiry e-mail to the US consulate here in my country, and somehow they sent back their reply promptly, at around 10 am local time. I'm not sure if it would be different if I were the one to sent the embassy that e-mail instead lol...

I wrote the case number on the Top right of EVERY document, even the originals. Some people don't like to write on the original documents, but in Germany we can just walk into the registrar's office to get as many original doc's as we want, so I wasn't worried about writing on them. The biggest thing is that if a paper you submitted gets separated from the case, then they have a way to get it back to the right place.

My wife had no luck when she called the consulate, they didn't seem to have time to listen to her. So I called, I was just extra polite and mentioned the weather here in America and asked how it was for them over there... That sort of thing, it goes a long way to ask someone how they are doing. You might be surprised how often a person doesn't get asked that and it can turn the conversation in your favor right from the beginning. Anyhow, I was extra polite, but didn't take no for an answer. I would recommend you have the USC make any calls.

They ended up answering all of the questions I had.

So, I decided to call the Mumbai IV unit this afternoon. Got through on one try, less than 30 seconds of waiting.

Apparently, nobody understands English anymore! Alicia--I had the same problem as you.

I asked AT LEAST three times if the embassy was completely booked for April or if there were any vacancies still left. The operator asked for my case number, typed it in (I could hear her clickin' away on the keyboard) and then pronounced, "No records were found of your case. Please contact NVC. They will schedule your case." Uh, thanks for telling me something I already know. I enunciated slowly, asking "Is April completely booked or are there still any spots left?"

"You will have to contact NVC, Ma'am."

I thought it was prudent to hang up. headbonk.gif

I had the exact same experiance when I called Chennai. They don't entertain you much untill the case has reached the consulate

The NVC on the other hand.... just gave me the same line about the packages not being mailed out until the interview is scheduled and that they won't be doing that until the second week of April, and blah blah blah.

I'm still holding out hope that one of the packages that went out early this week is ours and that this information varies greatly by consulate. It didn't sound like the operator that I spoke with took any time to look at anything short of confirming our info and delivering the standard response. He did say to call back April 16th, contrary to other operators which I have heard say that they never give specific dates to call back...

According to the consulate themselves as of yesterday, they hadn't scheduled any interviews yet for April. I doubt that they'll go the whole month without any interviews. Especially considering that the embassy told me that May is there busiest month of they year and that they work hard to get everyone processed by the end of the month who gets scheduled.
