Hi everybody

Congrats to everyone on the progress so far with their cases! We are all farther along than where we started, so at least that much is good (I am really trying to stay positive...)

We've just been issued an RFE today - haven't had any progress in two weeks and AVR still stated "your documents were received on 03/11", so I called and spoke to the operator, and they want us to resend I-864 and some additional stuff So I was wondering, what is the cover letter format for the RFE? Should we include the barcode on the cover letter since we are trying to mail this out ASAP? And what's the address for the I-864? The nice operator told us what the issue is - we didn't check a box in part 6, so we know what to do, just need to know what sort of cover letter to include. Please help!

Sachinky, my packages were delivered on 03/08/2010 and the AVR stated them as received on 03/11/2010, so it's very close to your dates (I am assuming they are using the receipt date from your second RFE), so I am sure your SIF is right around the corner! I've been reading the thread and you are always the one so helpful with the information and so on top of things, so just wanted to let you know they are processing dates very close to yours - especially considering that M&ME's SIF just happened, and they sent their papers in after we did. So I am sure you will get your CC tomorrow! (*knocks on wood*)

Wow congratulations!

I am waiting for them to enter my AOS into the system. its been a week but they haven't enter it yet.

Oh, And_Sam thats great! at least he will be home soon. The signed statment was sent to the embassy and signed for today. I hope they call him soon to send the passport and soon after that to pick up his visa. I cant wait!!!

Absolutely ! grab an I-9 form, study it. What 'saves you' for Day 1 - err.. FROM Day 1, past POE -

is that you get a stamp in the passport that VALIDATES the visa to be used as a temporary I-551 card (green card).

So, with the SSN in hand, with that thingie in the passport - you can work. No need to wait on physical GC delivery.

Second that one... my hubby was working over a month before he received his physical GC... Just needed a SS# and the passport stamp for him to be on the payroll... But he applied way before and explained the situation to them and they held the job until he arrived...

yes I really will check and email my contacts in DC and the persons that I know through my job right now so I can hopefully start working soon after I arrive in Virginia..

Thank you all. Still hoping for an April interview. The lady at the embassy told me that they have not scheduled any April interviews yet since this is the slowest part of the year.

I'll call again tomorrow to see where they're at.

Wow. There goes some good news. For those with a case complete this month, there's still hope. I'm a bit jealous because

our case was sent and appt scheduled before yours, yet your interview is almost two weeks before ours.

I have applied for my two minor children.

sent the ds-3032 and mailed the AOS package on 03/17/10

today the online payment site shows invoice for IV bill for

only one child and not invoiced for the other.

Any possible reasons?

how do you track the packages to the embassy? I read on thing in the wiki, but it doesn't make sense to me.

Well folks, so there you have it. Proof once again that the interview email comes from NVC, it is actually the embassy that schedules the appt WHEN they have received the package from NVC.

I was lucky to hit the exact delivery date of my package to embassy. Lucky in the sense that mine was the only one sent on that particular day. The NVC sent me an email the very same day the embassy received the package.
