Sachinky, so, from what you are saying.. I will not know when the interview is until like the 9th or 16th of April? That totally blows!! So much for getting an 'good' deal on some plane tickets :P This process sucks and continues to suck even after you get an case complete :(

Oh God!! I was just thinking.. what if we dont get an interview until June!! Then that would mean that I wouldnt hear or know anything until May/?!!?!

How do you find out how 'booked up' your embassy is? Do you email them, or is there some type of list? I have tried looking online .. but.. havent come across anything

AN operator at NVC told us - not sure if he was just making it up or not...but he was very helpful when my husband called!

going by this Sachinky.. I wonder.. if I used the average which is 10 days, then when I add it to the date that they recieved my last package I should have an case complete on the 19th... if I add it too the date that the operator keeps telling me <the 9th is when the DS-230 came under review> then.. the date of a case complete would be the 23rd... lets see... at this point I am tryin to not obsess about it... can you tell???? :P

ok ok according to AVR our case was received the 18th, not the 15th...

need to edit that for waiting list.

Hi,

SO here's a question - how does the POE timeline go? Once you enter, give them the sealed envelope, what happens next? Does my husband get his green card right away? Do they mail it? What about a SS Card?

We're trying to plan how he can move his career here - and any idea on timelines obviously helps!!

Hi,

The dates that Sachi posts are when your documents were recieved at NVC's mailroom - not when the AVR acknowledges...

Good Morning everyone!!

Hubby is going to get his medical done by the end of the month... I was reviewing the vaccination requirements... WOW... I am happy that it isnt me that is immigrating :D...

Hey so did you get your interview date??? my understanding was that you needed the interview letter in order to do the medical apt. also for the vaccination, i got direct emails from one of the docs who does medical checks in the hyderabad clinic - he said that you'd only need 2 or 3 of the vaccinations for someone who is already in their late 20s/early 30s (my wife's 28). so it wont be so bad for your hubby. i think the whole thing should end up costing less than 3000 Rs (50-60 us dollars).

Once in awhile, right in the middle of an ordinary life, love gives us a fairy tale - My beautiful wife Soni

Hubby may want to kill me for this but I have to add a funny story while everyone is talking about vaccines.

When we applied for the K1 last year, he had to get his vaccines. Not one who has had a lot of shots, he passed out cold!

Woke up a little while later with an IV in his hand!

I will never forget his text messages that morning... telling me everything they were doing at the medical exam. And then I didn't get anything for a while. Finally he texts... "I just woke up now!" LOL

Ahh, the immigration stories we will all be laughing at years from now when this is all over!

For India, you will need the interview letter before your medical can be scheduled. This is my understanding. They won't schedule your interview till you provide them the date and time.

That is so funny!!! My husband got his immunizations last week, two in both arms and two in both "cheeks" He's Jamaican and very leery of anyone going near or around his "buttocks" Poor thing said the HepB shot hurt the most as the needle was twice as large. He couldnt walk proper for a day after, but so far, so good with any side effects. His cost him about 120 dollars tho! and we STILL have to pay for the actual medical, etc.

He's worried that they are going to give an eye exam and he may not do so well as he lost his glasses and we cant really afford to get a new pair right now. Im wondering if he should just NOT tell the medical staff that he even wears glasses, instead of telling them that he doesnt have them on him. Maybe they will simply "suggest" he get them when he gets to the states as he is very near sighted.

The reason I use the date your package was delivered to NVC is because there are times when the AVR is simply out of whack.

Right now, the AVR seems to be about 3 days behind with the mail.

Funny story too!

I think I agree with just not saying anything about the glasses!
