Mike -- So sorry to hear about your troubles. Do you have friends/family you can stay with till the visa thing gets sorted out?

As for me, I won't check the payment portal/AVR till 10PM EST Friday night. If there's no news then, I will surely call NVC for an answer. It's getting extremely tiresome now.

so here is what i got for my IV package! does it look okay?? nothing i should add or do??

OH!!

should i write my NVC ### at the top of EVERY document for the IV??? even the original birth cert and marriage cert???

No, mail is not delivered on Saturday. You can mail it out tomorrow using ground service. It'll get there on Monday.

Police clearance certificate. It needs to be obtained from every place the beneficiary has resided for more than 6 months after attaining the age of 16.

You should get it for all the areas you stayed within your country or outside the country from your age 16....This the mandatory document they look for....Also there are two pcc's to get, One from your passport office and from the local police station...

2 PCCs are required ONLY for India.

Tokyo, check the regional forum for what the PCC from Japan should be.

All beneficiary applicants MUST submit a PCC. If they have a clean record, it will state so on the PCC.

Get going on that ASAP. I don't know how long it would take from Japan but look into it NOW.

oh my god!!

it takes THREE WEEKS!!! and they fingerprint you and it says they are SEALED. don't you do that AFTER your application gets sent to the embassy!??? not before???

are you sure i send this now with the IV package? it seems like you have to wait until the NVC sends you documents and instructions to go get the fingerprints done...

"To request a police certificate, Japanese applicants will need:

* Passport

* Family register ("koseki shohon"), issued within the past six months

* Personal seal ("inkan" or "hanko")

* Residence certificate ("jumin hyo")

If you filed an I-130 with NVC in the U.S. and received DS-3032(Choice of Address and Agent), NVC will send an applicant or agent the instruction package. Please follow the instruction by NVC. "

I'm quite sure the PCC has to go in with the IV packet. You can of course send in your DS230 as planned and then get RFE'd for it. In the meantime, procure the document so you can send it in when the RFE comes in. It's absolutely up to you.

Chances are you will need your NOA2/IV bill payment to show in order to get that PCC. Most places will only issue the PCC once they have some documentary proof that it is in fact needed.

Please ask some Japanese VJers or check out the regional boards.
