Wondering if I am in the correct forum. I just got my NOA2 (hardcopy) on Saturday. Waiting for a case number from NVC.

Also, whats RFE?

& I have asked several people before (Melody & Mrs. Wife gave me answers, thank you) but asking again just to make sure. Sorry!

Here it goes;

1. The IV Package I submit to NVC not my hubby?

2. I need to have his original birth certificate, police clearance & passport copies to submit?

3. What else will I need? Want to be prepared & have the stuff in hand before submitting. Mail works really slow from India to US.

If you have hardcopy (postal mail) then there's good chance the casefile is already at NVC.

are you the USCitizen?

Sachinky!!!

Ok, bank statements.... as simple as that and easily corrected. I didnt send in bank statements either- well did send in copy of savings account, so who knows.

Sachi- you sound like me. call to get the info, and then find out you hang up before you GET ALL of the info... we are all so anxious and freaking out.

I am READY to send in my DS230. Any last minute tips, advice? Its goin out this afternoon.

I can add my name to the list of waiting for Case Complete.

Quick question...

On the DS230, should I be doing all caps? All caps for Family names? Any issue with that, or does it matter? Im checking my papers... this is the 8th time im checking... Im a wreck

:help: Should the DS230 be typed in Adobe? Instead of handwritten?

Welcome to NVC March edition. You are in the right place. You can find the poverty guide lines from the following website http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3183.html

You do not need to have a co-sponsor if you are making above the posted income level. But it is a decision that consular officer will make eventually whether to request for a co-sponsor or not.

IV packet is sent to NVC, but need get all the supporting documents including DS-230 signed by your spouse.

Thank you for the answer & link.

Hey y'all. I have NO idea why they wanted my husband's bank information. He doesn't qualify any way and looks like my joint sponsor's stuff was all in place. Anyway, it's been sent off--now we'll see what happens.

I've thought about it--it could be that a bank statement of our joint account was sent with our initial I-130 petition and maybe they wanted an updated bank statement as that was six months ago? Maybe there was some discrepancy on the form with the actual amount, which isn't much anyway. God knows. But just to be on the safe side, I'd suggest that bank statements are added in the future for all AOS packets.

And guys, there's a PINNED STUPID RFE thread in this forum. Go through it, might help pre-empt a RFE.

Is this the correct way to opt in for electronic processing?

1. Enter the code “OPTIN” followed by your NVC Case Number in the Subject line of the e-mail, for example OPTIN XXX2009123123 (where XXX would be the processing consulate 3 digit code).

2. Refer to only ONE CASE per e-mail message.

3. The body of the e-mail must contain:

* All e-mail addresses at which you wish to receive electronic correspondence.

* For family-based petitions, the body of each message must include the applicant's name, e-mail address, and date of birth; the petitioner's name, e-mail address and date of birth; and the name, e-mail address, and address of the attorney of record, if applicable.

* For employment-based petitions, the body of each message must include the name and address of the sponsoring company/organization.

4. Complete a Choice of Address and Agent form DS-3032.

* Fill in the form online, save it on your computer as a PDF file, and then attach the completed DS-3032 to the e-mail message before you send it.

Yep, it is the correct way, but, I did not attach the form DS-3032, I just asked for participating the Electronic Processing, and chose the Choice of Agent

Naturalization(N-400):

the ds-3032 is a bit strange. it must be signed, and this opt in email must be sent from the beneficiary's email address.

I wish I had 'figured you out', earlier - cause I gots some silly things to suggest to you...

(living out of country with yer foreign spouse)

1. VOIP account - switch it to 'both names' - print out the bills. If you get stuck, get a Vonage account online, have the gear sent to a relative in the USA.

2. make photos of the two of you, holding a newspaper under yer chin, with the date visible, inside the apartment, outside the apartment. make about 10 to 15 sets of these. I know it sounds goofy - but this photo type was actually asked for by ConOffs in China, Russia, and Ukraine, for couples that were living in these countries - to PROVE that they were living together - when no other evidence types were available (affadavits, leasehold paperwork, utility bills) - but - only asked for ON AN RFE/BLUE SLIP on interview day.

3. get yer new affadavits made now from yer buddies and family. notarized is best.

4. write up a new evolution of relationship letter. pay particular attention to any time tick event and durations.

Good Luck !

Thanks Darnell! I'm getting started on this right now.
