Ok! Freaking out again.. SOMEONE calm me down...

So, finally got the RFE email here is what it said.

Please submit a completed copy of form DS-230 Part I, (Application for Immigrant Visa and

Alien Registration - Biographic Data) for this applicant. In reviewing the form that you

submitted, we note that the section pertaining to applicant residences from the age of 16 is

either blank or incomplete. The applicant must list all places lived for at least six months since

reaching the age of 16. There must not be any gaps greater than six months. You will need to

complete and submit a new form with the changes. Your visa application cannot be processed

until this form is complete.

A gap exists in your residence history of more than six months. When completing the

information in this section, please refer to the following instructions below on Police

Certificate(s):

*Police certificates are required for each visa applicant aged 16 years or older, based on

where each applicant lives or has lived previously.

*Police certificates are also required from all other countries where the applicant has resided

more than 12 months. Present and former residents of the United States should NOT obtain

any police certificates covering their residence in the U.S.

*Generally, applications for police certificates should be made directly to the police authorities

in the district in which you resided. The police certificate must:

*Cover the entire period of the applicant's residence in that area, and

*State what the appropriate police authorities records show concerning each applicant,

including all arrests, the reason for the arrest(s), and the disposition of each case of which

there is a record.

*If you have any questions about where or how to apply for police certificates in other

countries, you may communicate directly with the U.S. consular office processing your visa

applications.

NOTE: Police certificates from certain countries are unavailable. Detailed information is

available from the NVC or the nearest United States immigrant visa processing post.

To download a form with complete instructions, please visit www.ImmigrantVisas.state.gov

SO WHAT THE EFF DO THEY REFER TO THE POLICE CERTIFICATE FOR? Does this mean his police cert is lost or... someone decipher this. :help:

Alicia--I'd be calling a NVC operator right about NOW in order to confirm. But from what I understand--it's #30 on your DS230. Look for the checklist. That'll have whatever they need checked off on it.

On another note, I noticed the Checklist Cover Sheet they provided with this RFE differs slightly from the first one I got in that it does actually have the case number above the bar code, whereas the one I submitted did not. Just the barcode - no case number. I think they know we are trying to be a step ahead of them so they throw these little changes our way to confuse and :bonk: us. I hate them

dear I think all you have to do is fill out the DS-230 again and make sure there is no gaps in his residence... I believe that they were just lettting you know that you will have to have a police report from every area from where he lived... I dont think this means that they have lost your police reports that you have already sent in.. calm down and take a deep breath....

You kno... after reading it again A&M I think you are right. this whole processes has deemed me WACKO  See why I need you guys??? Yes... I think you are right. Thing witih Kingston is that its the only constable office where they can get police certs, so he has no other cert to provide.

Sach - nope. Im going to just leave it as is. The operator I talked to yesterday told me as long as I sent it in with SOMETHING that had a barcode on it, I would be fine. Plus, the address I sent is the most current (31 Rochester, Suite 100 ATTN DR:)

the plain bar code and the one with bar code with the case number attached is one and the same. per the attach image, if you have the top or the bottom bar code you should be fine as long as you have a bar code. these code are just so they don't have to type in your case number (fast and less human error).

Ats.......... The reason why NVC is so nit picky about question 30 is because that section tells them what police clearance certificates are necessary for each case. I don't think NVC is so ####### about other sections of DS-230. You have all the bases covered by sending in the updated DS-230. Now its just waiting for CC.

Sachi....... You are really running US time these days :-) Looks like your sleep cycle is all messed up. Things the NVC can do to you. You will be through this week......Positive.

That makes sense Viv. What annoys me is that in Jamaica, it doesnt matter WHERE you live, all police activity is reported to the constable in Kingston. Makes sense though that if the question is answered wrong it would raise suspicion and require a more in depth response. You have made my mind a bit more at ease Viv. Thanks. However, I still wonder if I should have just put from his birth date to his current address. I keep asking myself Ok, are we sure its 1998 that he turned 16?"
