He had his interview. They said they want me to hand write a letter saying that im not required to file for faxes and send it VIA aramex. And that after we send it no longer then 2 weeks, and thats they will do a routin Review they will call my husband to send his passort via Aramex and they will give him the visa.

They looked at all the pictures and he answered everything. The lady told him

"You have everything i dont know why this guy whants you to send this letter, but just let her send it."

Im so depressed. :crying: We sent everything, we had everything that could have asked for!

Oh MQ! I'm sorry they are delaying the visa!!! Just get the letter in telling them why you don't file taxes.

I'm sure it'll go quickly! What in the world is aramex??? Is that like DHL???

Keep us posted!!! If it's not one thing, it's always another!!!! :bonk::bonk:

The rest of the interview sounds great though!!!!!!

YES!~!!!!! Remember, it is normal for everyone in MENA to have to wait a bit!! Good luck GF and insha'allah he will have that visa soon!!!!

why dose it take longer then 2 weeks? Some people on here got there visa after 4 days. I hope he get his visa quickly :(

It could be a whole number of things but it is the mystery that is known as mandatory administrative processing. Have you been reading the threads in the MENA forum at all? Seriously, a lot of people there would have loved it to have been only 1-2 weeks and would be dancing in the streets. Get perspective here...it's almost over but you are going to have to be patient. I am concerned from your posts that you are setting yourself up for unneeded stress and distress. Again, compliment your husband, he's had a long day and be happy that you're in the place you are. It will not be too much longer now, but this wait time is normal. Those who get visas after 4 days are very blessed, indeed, when dealing with a MENA country. Those are the times we live in and that's about all the "why" I can give you.

Good morning everyone and Happy St. Patrick's Day! May the luck o' the Irish be with us all as we get towards the home stretch.

I am going to venture the question I left with last night but I think everyone had gone to bed already (darned time zones). I noted that many of you stated that with the employment for the last 10 years question #32 on DS-230 many of you said that if the employment did not go back a full 10 years you didn't put in something like "unemployed". I believe Sachi said that she was 13 ten years ago so it didn't make sense. My husband was of working age but in school part of the past 10 years so has anyone heard of an RFE for not putting something down. Also, my husband does contract work and so sometimes there's a period of a couple of months between contracts. Should he put down "unemployed" for those months or can he just list the jobs he has had? So, ok...two questions, but then I think that's it for our questions on DS-230.

Thanks everyone!

What we did on my hubster app. was make sure there wasn't any time gaps between the 10 years. If he was in school, then we put school/student in the time frame and there was a time span where he was working and doing contract work so we just listed the main job. Just make sure there isn't any gaps in the 10 years. Regardless if he was unemployed or not!!

just called the NVC AVR..it changed to case complete and said it was forwarded 16 March to the embassy. So when looking at the tracking info, I found our package I think. I will talk to an operator later today to see what they say about an interview.

Congrats!!

See now that is interesting...I do remember reading your post about the interview. That's why I'm wondering what constitutes assistance. My husband is going to fill out the paperwork himself but, as you can tell from my postings, I am asking a bunch of questions to make sure we do this right. I think I'm just going to have him fill it out himself because I don't want it to appear that he didn't do it himself. I was just trying to save him some heartburn but I don't want to open a can of worms in the process. Thanks!

Well considering that english is not a strong point for my husband, I knew that they were going to beable to tell that he had help with the application, so why not have his wife do it? :innocent: And yes, I am also ####### enough that I wanted to make sure it was done right the first time around!!!

I don't think it will be a problem at all~no worms here!!! :star:

You know MQ~ don't make yourself miserable wondering why it takes some longer than others. Why did my husband get his so quickly??? Well, who knows, but it doesn't matter. My husband is all cleared with the US and got his visa, but in the meantime, he can't leave Egypt because of all the stupid paperwork he is having to gather just to be released from any callbacks from the military. All this trouble just for his own country to delay him coming!!!:angry:

That totally makes sense in your case. My husband and I were talking about it yesterday and I told him I was wanting to help him out and he kind of laughed and said that it wasn't needed. I just thought with me having the time off this week and the fact that he doesn't have a working computer at home right now (has to go to the cyber cafe) that I could help him streamline the process a bit. Also, I know how serious he gets when he's filling out these papers. Oh geez last summer when we were working on the I-130 and the G-325A's...LOL! And we were together then!! But I think that I'm going to let him do it and I've asked enough questions that if he has any, I can answer them for him. I don't believe that would constitute assistance in filling out the forms. We know the big RFE's that the NVC is sending back and after that, like my husband said to me yesterday, the forms are pretty easy. Thanks for your answers. I really appreciate it!

 I am filling out my husband's DS-230. He answered all the questions, and sent me all the info. His typing is terrible, and his patience is limited. AND - I, too, want to make sure it is done right (not that he couldn't do it if he wanted to!) This way, I am happy, I know it is done the way I want it, he is happy, he didn't have to fill out the forms. I am, er I mean, he will put that he had assistance fillling out the forms.

MQ--Good news on the interview going well.

Did they issue your husband a 212g requesting what you just said? Or did they say he was approved pending the submission of those documents?

AP for MENA men is very common, so I'd err on the side of caution before getting your hopes up.

Send that letter in, pronto!

Good luck! :)
