I varies because for my husbands case we got our interview date scheduled on July 2nd for interview date Aug 4th- and our case was completed June 18

So im just waiting.

This is for my daughter. a CR2

WE GOT OUR DATE

Case Completed Feb 8th and today I called the AVR and they said that it was still waiting for a date and to still wait 8 weeks, so I pushed the 0 to talk to the operator.

She let me know that the interview date for Jamaica was scheduled today. March 1st for a April 9th date :dance::dance::dance::dance:

So that talk about the 2nd week scheduling did not apply to my case for the CR2- and is just to hold back some of the calls IMO

What are you guys bringing to the interview? I thought we could start a brainstorm!

I just started now, so here is what I could think so far:

- pictures... tons of it. (to be exact 2 albums with 200 picts/each).

- copy of boarding pass from last time I visited the US, proving I left before my visa expires. (you never know....)

- Barcoded and receipt from NVC fees. Both AOS and IV bill.

Hubby is living with me in BR since then wedding... so we don't have emails, phone call anything like that. What else should I add?

OK YOU. Break out the instructions, again, on the I-130.

There's 6 types of 'evidence' that you were supposed to submit with the initial 'mail off' of the I-130.

Now's the right time to 'finish up' - bringing all evidence, that you've accumulated from the time you sent it off, to interview date time tick.

Stumped? Read my link -

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Yay! Glad somebody liked me idea. This way we can take our minds off the 'case complete' for a bit.

$600 it's a lot! Have you tried to download Skype? I have a plan that I call the US unlimited for $8 (either cell or land number). Plus it's a trimester plan

$8 to talk unlimited for 3 months! Good deal.

No, no bank accounts. We tried to add me to his Bank of America account, but they said since I'm not a US citizen I have to go to the bank personally to be added to his account. So only when we move back to the States.

We can prove he is living here with his passport. But that's all. I can ask friends to make a notarized letter stating that they know he has been living here and all that. Plus I have tons of pictures..... What do you think? Is it worth to ask friends for notarized letters?

I couldn't add him to my Brazilian bank account because he doesn't have any Brazilian documentation... and as we are living with my mom all the bills are in her name.

We do groceries shopping all the time, so maybe we can print some bank statement to prove something.....

What else guys?

I wish I had 'figured you out', earlier - cause I gots some silly things to suggest to you...

(living out of country with yer foreign spouse)

1. VOIP account - switch it to 'both names' - print out the bills. If you get stuck, get a Vonage account online, have the gear sent to a relative in the USA.

2. make photos of the two of you, holding a newspaper under yer chin, with the date visible, inside the apartment, outside the apartment. make about 10 to 15 sets of these. I know it sounds goofy - but this photo type was actually asked for by ConOffs in China, Russia, and Ukraine, for couples that were living in these countries - to PROVE that they were living together - when no other evidence types were available (affadavits, leasehold paperwork, utility bills) - but - only asked for ON AN RFE/BLUE SLIP on interview day.

3. get yer new affadavits made now from yer buddies and family. notarized is best.

4. write up a new evolution of relationship letter. pay particular attention to any time tick event and durations.

Good Luck !

Timeline

All this talk of letters and dates and proof got me wondering, so I took another look at ours. If you look at just the husby and me, we're good. But if you look at the side events, I start to wonder.

The "main" timeline for the husby is in my signature. Here's the "big picture" timeline:

04-We Forget-2005 : Current husby and I start teaching our languages to each other.

04-26-2005 : First husby and I get married JP-style.

09-After the 13th-2005 : First husby moves out, mumbling about divorce, to be heard from infrequently over the next few years.

11-08-2005 : Current husby and I become "Special Friends." Nothing too big or too serious, just an understanding that we're for each other.

Interim : Various blah blah blah about divorce from the first husby, with no papers and no agreements. He's happy in his new life with his new female friends.

12-2007 : Current husby goes to Australia to study.

03-14-2008 : I go to meet current husby in Australia. Somewhere along the way our "special friends" became a serious, committed relationship. There's not a date for it.

02-14-2009 : Petition for divorce and a dozen roses sent to my house by my first husband.

03-03-2009 : Current husby proposes.

06-29-2009 : Divorce finalized.

07-20-2009 : I went to Thailand to meet with current husby's family and gather paperwork (initial plan for K-1).

07-27-2009 : F' the plan. We're gettin' married, dangit!

Does it look as bad as I think it does? If I didn't know better, I would think "This chick jumped from one relationship to the next while still married. WTH?!"

Even thinking that, though, a part of me says "So what?" If you're going to toss around accusations of adultery, the time to do it was at the divorce stage. It's not relevant here. All that matters now is that my husby and I have known each other for almost 5 years now, and we have tons of evidence to back it up.

If they'd like to see how we talked for the first year (friends, teacher/student, some Thai some English) as opposed to how we talk now (clearly a couple, exclusively in Thai) then they're welcome to read every single page of chat transcript.

So... is it bad? Husby is suggesting altering the timeline, but I refuse to lie about this. There's nothing to lie about. How should the evolution of relationship letter go?

TheBears -

what's important in the evolution of relationship letter:

1. major events, time ticks, with dates.

2. descriptions of HOW you two communicate, what medium, what languages.

3. addressing any red flags, also referencing any additional documentation on said red flags.

fwiw, I not note an actual marriage date on yer timeticks. Then, you have any other 'events' past the marriage date?

There are 4 dates that worry me.

04-2005 : Started talking with Husby #2

04-26-2005 : Married to Husby #1

05-29-2009 : Divorced Husby #1

07-27-2009 : Married to Husby #2

Too close?

It looks like the letter's going to be more than a page, divided into sections:

Starting to talk with Husby #2

"Dating" Husby #2, talking on the phone/online, exclusively in Thai after the first 2 months

Meeting Husby #2, including proposal and marriage

About Husby#1 and Dates AKA Please disregard my red flag

No hiding. No lying. Include contact information for husby#1, just in case?

OMG... somebody shoot me and put me out of my misery...... :crying: it is more humane to euthanize than to keep going through this torture  lol

I have spent the last 3 HOURS walking my not so computer savvy <thinking isnt he an indian> husband through the DS-230...... I guess what doesnt kill ya makes one stronger :P

ok.... so help me God... He will mail me this DS-230 packet today... <please GOD let him remember> (2) DS-230 signed part 1 only, (2) Birth Certificate, (2) PCC's, (1) Copy of passport<shhhh we wont tell him I already made a copy of it>, (8) passport photos.... he will mail this all to me and I will assemble it.... I think I might puke.... it is 1 am... my head is killing me... think I will try to go to sleep and not think about visa numbers in my sleep

you know what is bad... is that it is late so my nose is all stuffy... so I am trying to help him and say question 31a says bla bla bla

and then he was like... 41 what

I said no... 31a... you know 3 1.... he says oooo 21a..... arrrrrghhhhh 31a 31a 31a.....

isnt really his fault... it is mine, didnt know my voice would fail me... hehehe.... Is our life going to be this interesting when he is actually here? Guess we could argue over other things... like... who gets to shower first in the morning... who lets the dog out.... who gets to drive the car.. the name of our first born.... .......... Night Everyone!!

XOXOXOXOXO

How funny! I mailed my hubby the form & included an example I made. Filled in what I knew & highlighted the parts where he needs to fill out. He hates paperwork so I tried to do as much as I can. But I know once he receives it & sees how much he has to fill out, their will be some complaining.

Melody -> here is a hint... tell your husband to mail the DS230 complete to you.

Also tell him to add some blank papers with his signature. This case if it's something wrong you can re-do the form and print on the top of his signature.

Tell him to sign in the same space where the signature goes on the DS230, you know?

This way you could print out a new form if you need to correct anything.

I don't know if I was clear... lol

let me know if you didn't understand =)

I mailed my hubby like 10 DS230 forms. Some so he can fill out & some so he can just put his signiture on it. Attorney told me to do that just in case.

Welcome to NVC March edition. You are in the right place. You can find the poverty guide lines from the following website http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3183.html

You do not need to have a co-sponsor if you are making above the posted income level. But it is a decision that consular officer will make eventually whether to request for a co-sponsor or not.

IV packet is sent to NVC, but need get all the supporting documents including DS-230 signed by your spouse.
