what do you guys think..? Husband was here on a B1 visa - we didn't include the copy of that visa with the DS-230. Think we're going to get a RFE for that????//?

I dont think so.. per example I had 1 B1 visa prior and after the J1 visa and they are just asking about the J1 visa

And that's because J-1's might have the two year home residency requirement, and they need to know that if you were subject to it, that you complied with it.

I had a B2 in 1999 and a F-1 in 2005. They didn't ask to see anything.

The reason they are asking for the J-1 is to make sure the 2 home residency requirement rule doesn't apply or has already been complied with. Thought this was USCIS's job, though.

the rule is for IMIGRANT VISAS... B1 IS A NON IMIGRANT VISA...

Ok.. just got off with a lady named "Rose"

She said make sure we list from the time hes 16 and not put date of birth, or they will send it back? strange. AND she said, no need to wait for checklist letters. As long as you have a barcode (coversheet) your good. She also said that make sure to put Suite 100 on the address when returning. Nothing new, but Im surprised about the date of birth thing. Why on earth would they return it back for that??? Ok, sending off today. I hate NVC

My husband is working on DS230 right now so let me see if I understand this so I can tell him...when you go back to where he lived from the time he was 16, do you indicate BEFORE that time if he lived there prior to turning 16? Or do you just put the year? What exactly did you mean by do not put the date of birth or they will send it back?

Considering that NVC knows what they want - they should really post that information! We would include all necc documents if they would say at the beginning that they needed them. SO FRUSTRATING. Hopefully you guys get this all sorted ASAP

Well, for instance, my husband from the time of his birth lived at the same place up until 8/2004. However, the operator told me NOT to list his date of birth to 8/2004, but instead list the time he turned 16 to 8/2004. Its confusing because a lot of people are putting all there residences from their dates of birth to present, however, the operator said they will send it back to me if I do that and to JUST limit the residences from the time the applicant turned sixteen onward. Make sure to liste PRESENT address as well.

I know, it's ridiculous!! I'm sure they can see that on their system. Especially me that had a change of status after the J1. If I had the 2HRR they wouldn't have issued me the B2.

They don't need too much neurons to figure that out, right? Arghhhhhhh

Also, do you guys think there is a way we can add this information in the "fly through NVC" link? It may help other people....
