MrsW--This is what you should do.

All the documentation.

Your own cover letter.

The DS230 barcoded cover sheet.

A DS230.

Change the ATTN line to ATTN : DR.

Or you can send it in when the RFE checklist comes in your mail.

Do I need to send another DS230? If not, I could just email the papers to my in-law and he'd print and send it over. If I have to sign another DS230 I'll have to mail. It takes 7 business days to arrive in the US :(

So whats the consensus on responding to RFE's. Sach, I forget.. did you wait for the actual checklist email, or did you guys just send it in after you confirmed what was needed?

Ok.. just got off with a lady named "Rose"

She said make sure we list from the time hes 16 and not put date of birth, or they will send it back? strange. AND she said, no need to wait for checklist letters. As long as you have a barcode (coversheet) your good. She also said that make sure to put Suite 100 on the address when returning. Nothing new, but Im surprised about the date of birth thing. Why on earth would they return it back for that??? Ok, sending off today. I hate NVC

Great info about the RFE. Weird about the birth date though.

I sent one (according to the LingChe guides) in as soon as we got off of the phone and had confirmed our RFE with an operator. That was overnighted and reached NVC on March 2nd and was stated as being under review as of March 5.

We received the RFE checklist email on 03/02 and sent that one off on 03/03 via UPS ground service that was delivered to NVC on March 8th and inputted into the AVR on March 11.

I have no idea which one they will count. I just hope they consider the first one and ignore the second one. Although that might explain our delay? Maybe they are only considering the second one?

We are waiting for specific information on these instances, and until such time we caution all users of the guide to use their best judgement in responding to a "possible RFE".

Hi all,

I have a few question for u who r 1 month ahead me.

1.- I have my interview next month. My hubby got the Packet 4 which contains the DS-230 Part II, Instruction for Medical Exam. and more. He mailed it to me. My question is... where are the rest of documents we sent to NVC??? Birth cetificate, marriage certificate, police certificate and more? that is Packet 3 right? Are those documents at the US embassy? or they have to mail them to me or what??

2.- Are there another new forms I have to fill out at the interview?

3.- I use calling cards to call my hubby, since it gives me 1400 min to USA for 7 $us, I dont have calls record because 1 min to USA is 1 euro (1,36 $us) Do u think I should present it with my scrapbook? Well yes I have looooots of chats printed out, but what about those calling cards?

Wow just starting the NVC process(Just checking out Electronic Processing....not sure if I want to opt in yet.) Am I wrong or are alot of folks getting RFE's in this stage? ...wow 200+ pages to read up on this and see what things I should/shoudlnt do to hopefully avoid all the RFE hassle. Any advice for a NVC noob? (Yes I have been reading the wiki guides on the stuff)

I also cant see any other reason for the delay. While they were working on your first packet they might have got updated information that a new packet related to your case has arrived and probably waiting for the review of this one. Anyway this wont cause any significant delays since the second packet was already inputted on the 11th.

Yeah, what do you think? Should I wait the stupid email or should I send it with the DS230 barcoded sheet?

I want to send ASAP but if I have to wait is fine too since I already missed April interview.

mrs. wife - sorry about your RFE. I totally understand how you feel. At this point, you don't know the exact RFE, so responding to a probable RFE may work and could expedite your case. On the other hand if the RFE is asking for 1 thing and your "guessing" response is another then it only prolong your case.
