I don't know who this Darell guy on here is not that I really care but let me clear something up;

Yes, I am working with an attorney through this whole process. My attorney is not from India so if I ever ask questions its;

a. attorney is busy cannot get back to me soon enough

b. He is not from India (I repeat) (even though I am sure he has worked with that Embassy before)

c. (the most important reason) Because I CAN!

If it bothers anyone that I ask questions, you can simply ignore them & don't have to answer.

Last thing I need in this whole stressful process is to have to explain myself to anyone here and/or have an online argument.

I am all like all of you here, trying to get my SO other home! Please try to be a little bit more understanding!

Thank you all who has been helpful along the way so far! Its very much appreciated and as always GOOD LUCK ON YOUR CASES!!!!!

Yay, My aos and Iv fees are now showing paid :P

Thats great!

I totally agree with you regarding the calling. While I don't have a reason to call right now--waiting on hubby to send his docs. I have only called NVC twice to speak to an operator; other times to listen to the AVRs. The first time to give them our emails and second to inquire about my IV and AOS bills that came out of my checking account almost a week and it still said "In PROCESS" status. That's it. I feel like I'm bothering them if I call too often. I also don't take the usual "4-6 weeks" responses to heart. I don't let it upset me because it is standard and truthfully I don't think the operators can tell us more than that since they are not the ones processing our cases.

I miss my husband a whole lot but freaking out over this process will only make us physically ill. I went through that during the USCIS stage and I'm not doing it again. No more of that. No more stressing.

With that said, good luck to all of you waiting for LIF/CC of to those waiting for interviews. The wait is only temporary. You will have the rest of your lives with your respective spouses.

Great advice!

Thank you for this post and very wise words. I am right there with you in that I totally stressed out during the I-130 approval phase. But I read and researched and asked questions (and continue to do so) so that we can get through this as quick as possible, but knowing it's still going to be a little time. I remember when I was reading during the USCIS phase there was something like 20,000+ petitions filed PER MONTH and so once these are approved NVC has to deal with them. I actually think that them getting everything entered within 1 week or so is pretty good, especially considering how long it took during the approval phase. I have also been struck by how nice and helpful NVC has been and how easy they have been to work with. I also love this thread because people have been so helpful. I hope that everyone who is having difficult feelings can get that interview soon but also not be so upset. I feel bad for you when I see how upset some are getting...not in a bad way, I just wish good things for everyone. Remember, we're getting closer to having what we want...a life here with our spouse. Keep that in mind and focus on the good stuff...the rest will follow soon. You are all such good people and I feel lucky that I have the opportunity to talk with you all and go through this process with you all but keep the faith and it will work out.

Jujuswife,

Actually, whenver I call NVC it's usually past midnight US time. The reason being is that I intentionally avoid having to talk to a live operator.

I just want to listen to the recording. The AVR and the LOG In are serve as offical tools to reflect the current status. I have trained, dealt, and struggled enough with customer service agents in my life to know that they can only do what is in front of their screen.

THUS a freindly voice expressing what I want to hear is not entirely accurate. At times, you run into reps that are having bad days, or have some other issues in life, waiting to hash at whomever at their disposal. One other thing is I don't try to overlead reps with questions, issues, because what you say and ask gets typed ( oftentimes your caller ID# and time mark are logged into their system ) into their screen.

All this unnecessary info ACTUALLY S-L-O-W-S D-O-W-N the review process the reviewer has to read the notes ( hopefully understand ) or escalate to higher authority ( which slows down more ).

The NVC asks for 6-8 weeks to review a case, and I don't think a week is too much to wait. In fact, If I had to do it again, I would have sent my DS 230 package two days later. I sent it in 5 days after I sent my I 864 and the result was that I received a false RFE ( biographic information ). Had I given them 7 full days, the RFE notice and recording would have been obvious.

ON that note, it is completely understandable because we love those we love, and any time or distance apart is time and distance apart. That is the reason why I am living and working near my wife -- almost 10,000 miles away from U.S. home. :)

Thansur, I am not on thE LIST you posted, but I AM 100% SURE THAT I WILL BE ON THE MARCH 22 LIST. The email I received is dated March 15, so chances are they scheduled the interview immediately after the NVC packet arrived at the Phnom Penh embassy. If in fact the actual shipment of your packet and mine are consistent with the date posted on DHL site, you should receive your magic date tomorrow morning US time. Remember my packet arrived 4 hours ahead of you so I deserve to receive email 4 hours before you. ;)

Sorry all, I was in a hurry this morning and misread my email. It sems my interview date is also April 26, not April 23.

Positive side: A weekend to prepare.

Negative side: A weekend of anxiety

ha-ha.

There's still four more days to make the April interview deadline!

Positive side: A weekend to prepare.

Negative side: A weekend of anxiety

ha-ha.

There's still four more days to make the April interview deadline!
