Yeah that is the good part...no more worries about a stupid RFE. So now I guess i need to send my wife a copy of all the stuff i send to the NVC so she has it there. I will be getting that package together and hopefully sending it off tomorrow. I was holding some of the stuff just in case we had an RFE. She has a copy of everything except the I-864....I was dumb and forgot my transcripts in Alaska when i went to visit her last month.

Were you able to confirm with a "knowledgeable" operator as to the status of your Case Complete?

Gosh, at this point, I just want a May interview, but they are taking their sweet dam time

I wish there was really such a thing as a "knowledgeable NVC operator" unsure.gif Think I will call the AVR tonight.

Hello everyone,

I have got home today to a RFE from NVC. I think after looking over all of my I-864 documents, I found the reason( I hope ). The letter says on Part 6 Sponsor's income and employment; ( my name ) income indicated on the I-864 Part 25 does not correspond to that shown on the most recent tax return and w-2(s).

I looked over my 2009 tax returns and I found the mistake that I hope they are referring to ( since they are sooooooo specific with their letters). I use H&R Block to do my tax returns every year, when my w-2 total wages, tips, etc line ends with .51 cents or more H&R Block agent rounds up to the next dollar. I think I was RFE because there is $0.37 difference between my 1040A Tax return and my w-2! The w-2 figure is the lower figure but I entered the higher figure( rounded up figure on 1040A) as my annual household income. The NVC is asking for me to download and complete a New I-864 with the corrections. Do you think I should complete a New I-864 and use the lower figure on the w-2 or should I file an amended return to make the 1040A and w-2 match? I could have maybe? understood this if I was trying to screw uncle suga outa .37 cents, but damn I was claiming I made .37 cents more than I actually did. Like I said I think this is the cause, but I sent them my last three years Federal Income Tax returns and I check the box stating I had filed taxes the 3 most recent tax years and I also checked the optional box for the 2nd and 3rd most recent tax years. I am a comfortable amount above the 125% poverty levels for last year, but included the 2nd and 3rd years because my income was down a couple of grand from the previous 2 years. I was wondering if my checking 2 boxes in the Question 25 area caused a problem. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!!!!!!!

Ok got trough AVR. "The NVC received your documents on March 5th. Please allow 3587652 weeks for NVC review your case and blah blah blah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Argh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Alicia, I imagine how you feel. I really hope you don't get an RFE. I don't know why they take so long to review it!!!

My docts were sent in order, with cover letter, everything how it's supposed to be. It was not a mess... not at all.

Just open the packages and check if all the info is there and send it off to the Embassy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It can't be so hard!!!!!

I'm so frustrated!!!!!!!! I'm eating way too much chocolate and ruining my diet! NVC is making me fat again!!!!!!!

The Amount listed on question 25 should match exactly to the gross income on your Tax return (For all three years). Did you have any other income other than whats listed in your W-2? You will have to fill out a new I-864 once you have figured out what exactly the RFE is about.

Robby - Did you get your numbers (Adjusted Gross Income) from your tax return form 1040? if so then i don't think what you're suggesting is the problem. As long as what you have on your I-864 mach your tax return AGI. You can't get AGI straight from W2. There got to be something else.

The NVC does not accept the guidelines and policies of the IRS? Does this mean I have to file an amended return for 2009 because my tax preparer followed IRS guidelines when completing my 2009 return? I wonder how many of the people reviewing my I-864 rounded their tax figures off to the nearest dollar? I checked the 2009 1040A Instructions, page 24 states that any amount 50 cents or less can be dropped and any amount between 50 and 99 cents should be rounded up to the next dollar. The only requirement is if you round figures, you have to round all of the figures!!! Thanks for your input!
