are you the petitioner? if so there's no requirement to send in birth certificate. However if you have co-sponsors, your co-sponsors will need to provide proof that they are American citizen and also how they are related to you.

you dont need to do that with the AOS... as the bears has said you will need to do that with the DS-230 <but not you the benificary> and it will need to be the original and not a photocopy, only the co-sponsor would need to show proof of citizenship for the AOS

I sent in a copy of my DL with my AOS but this was only to show proof of residency... I also had my co-sponsor <my dad> do the same thing... I just thought our addresses might be confusing to them... I live at 1160 Fox Creek and my dad lives at 1154 Fox Creek

the only reason I can think that you would send in your birthcertificate would be to show a relationship between you and your co-sponsor if you have one... but totally isnt nessacary
