Well.... I'll try to get some sleep guys!

I'm sure hubby dreams about puppies all night long, while I obsess about NVC LOL

Alicia -> I completed understand you getting mad at him. I do the same to hubby... I say: it's all your fault!! hahahahah

Ohhhh poor baby!!!

Anyway, G'nite yall!!! Hope we can all laugh about this process when it's over!!!

I'm guilty too of getting mad at hubby at times or more like stressed out & drag him along when he deals with this process more calmly then me or at least it seems like that at times.

Yay! I'm finally here! My daughter got her approval today, but I'm still waiting for my husband's NOA2. I'm praying that he gets his approval soon so we can officially start the NVC thing. NO RFEs please!!!

Welcome! Good luck on your husbands NOA2!

Dear Sachi, Estrella, Mrs. Wife, Atsleumas, Vivke, all VJ friends

I'm Tharnsur's wife. I finally decided to create account of my own B-) I've been reading almost every single post in this thread, and feel emotionally attached to you all. My hubby and I are feeling at ease for now after we got our SIF yesterday. We just hope a SIF means Case Complete. Honestly tired of NVC process

Sachi, Mrs. Wife, Vivek, and everyone of you who are on the waiting list, next week is your week! Keep us update of your status :star:

Good luck to Estrella too! (F)

i just called and talked to an operator (not too happy one)

i asked if i could pay the IV bill before i got the email, she said, "NO!"

then i asked about employment letters and paystubs. she said i need the most recent pay stub because the tax returns are from 2008, so they are too old now. that makes sense.

here is the thing that is making me call again tomorrow morning to talk to another person though.

when i sent in my I-130, i sent in EVERYTHING. the AOS, DS 230, Marriage forms, birth certificates, translations and certifications. i asked if i can just send the photocopies of these files for my AOS package and IV package. this lady said i have to REDO EVERYTHING!!! and that is HARD. i got that marriage translation at a tokyo embassy and paid $30 for one! made the appointment 3 weeks in advance too! so to redo all those things is a BIG deal.

i hope whoever i talk to tomorrow will tell me i can send in photocopies of all that work that is already done and probably already at the NVC....

Sorry about that (sending everything on initial I-130 submittal).

The NVC Instructions are specific about what to do, what to send.

DS-230 - http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3190.html

I-864 - http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3730.html

General NVC stuff - http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_1335.html

A coupla of my GUZ-bound krewe did something similar , had to scramble to get the originals redone. Was a nightmare for them, at NVC, as well.

Can still sign in. I'm so SICK of this, seriously. ####### are they doing? This is getting kind of ridiculous. :diablo:

Vivek--Mumbai already has the April interviews up. Since Monday morning. Since I have a ton of time on my hands, I sat and counted the average number of interviews per day. Which was about 5-6. They definitely have more interviews than that. So maybe a lot of the cases with the older PDs get assigned dates earlier and certain slots are kept open for the newly finished cases? Who knows.

There is a forum on this site that called "The Stupid RFE Thread, List all your stupid RFEs here"

If you havent read that forum yet, here is what ppl wrote;

the common RFE i seen with NVC is on DS-230 where lot of people forget to put 'Present' in the address . i think question # 20...

Well I got an RFE because they want two passport photos of me and everything retranslated into Enlgish

Did not fill in the income totals for the last 3 years on question #25 (I-864)

Sending copy of PCC instead of Original

Marriage Certificate needs to be Original not Certified or not translated UNLESS you got married somewhere else other that country you have your interview in

it is always recommanded to fill out the forms completly to make sure you didn't miss one space. If question is not realted to you, put N/A.

Its wise to call NVC in regular basis to find out if there is possible RFE on your case so you can return needed documents ASAP. Waiting for NVC mailing system is a waste of time.

Name on the PCC did not include the alternate spelling listed on the DS-230. Insist that your PCC includes all alternate names, spellings, and aliases that were indicated on any other immigration form.

I miscalculated the year I turned 16

Go over all the answers a lot of times and make sure that every entry is correct!

When completing Aff of Support make sure u list three years of tax returns - and back it up with transcripts

When sending Originals to either USCIS or NVC - make sure you ordered additional cause one or the other is bound to lose them.

When self employed make sure you look at bottom line of Schedule C - they are not crazy about gross but really sorta interested in net on that one

The common RFE ,i have seen in most cases when ppl don't write "Present" in Q # 20.

So the soloution is very simple not to fill out the DS 230 forms in computer coz in Q # 20 computer can only write digits not Alphabetic words.

Need notorized letter from the other parent allowing the child/ren to immigrate to the US. Very important if you are petitioning a child with or without the parent.

They wanted my most recent IRS #######, from 2007. Fine. I was living and working in Japan for just about the entire year of 2007 so I sent them the 2555 I filed (income of Americans working abroad). They RFE'd me, asking for the regular W2 or whatever. I explained to an NVC guy on the phone that I didn't work in the US during 2007, which would be apparent should one take the time to look through my file. Still, I had to resubmit the entire AOS complete with this IRS-2555, everything being identical to what I'd already submitted, nothing different, nothing additional.

RFE: Question 20 - list all the places you have lived since 16 - I listed the three places I have lived at and the most recent periods I lived there, my home town for the past year, 6 months soemhwere else and 6 months somewhere else. Before that i lived at my hometown again, but did not include it, figured i listed it once already. turned out there shouldn't be a gap between the age of 16 and present, so i had to mail the form again.

Left out the W2 & the proof of current employment

NVC says my country of domicile was not listed.

i got an RFE asking for my husbands (USCs) original birth certificate at the I864 stage as they wanted proof he is related to his father, who is living with him and is our co sponsor on the I864A.

Stupid RFE: For India, apparently you have to submit 2 police clearances. One from the District Police and one from the passport office. Especially for New Delhi, you have to have it for NVC, but other embassies in India, such as Mumbai, you can submit at your interview. We only submitted the district PCC.

Country: Egypt Stupid RFE: NVC says husband's military certificate needs to be from Ministry of War, but that name is no longer used.

Stupid RFE: court records from a TRAFFIC stop. If it shows on the PCC, no matter how trivial you think it is, get certified copies of the court records, because the NVC will want them.

Stupid RFE: Marriage certificate stated that it was issued by the "Demographic Service" in Italy instead of "vital statistics office".

my rfe wasi didnt send my cosponors proof of citzenship or permant resident ,i really didnt see anywhere that u had to send that

Hope this will be helpful to someone in the future!

Scott, on Sachi's list you are on the 4th when your package was delivered.....I would change your status on the list to the 9th when the packages were entered into their system. I don't know if I would count on Monday for you....maybe end of the week hopefully!! I would rather be pleasantly surprised than disappointed : D

Sachi, are your dates the date the packages were "delivered" or "entered into system"? Semantics, but you know we are all obsessive, compulsive day counters, lol.

REALLY NIGHT now! I'll be in meetings all day tomorrow, so I'll be playing with the numbers : ( Thanks again for doing the list, it's awesome!

I go by the date the packages were delivered. The AVR has been/is kind of unreliable as it is 3-4 days behind, and has been out of whack for the last few weeks. My AOS packet for example, was NEVER inputted at all, we got the RFE straight up. My RFE response is now listed as received on 03/11 even though it was delivered 03/02 and according to three operators been under review since 03/05. Tharnsur's DS230 was not found in the system at all, right up to his SIF! Bottom line, the AVR is useless.

No problem, Gina, I'm a big fan of lists. :)

Keep an eye on yer email - NVC EP cases are closed 'fast' and that appointment date is 'set fast' also.

If you're 'current' on sending in those emails to NVC -

I'll forecast a case complete on Sunday, and appointment date set no later than Thursday.

Good Luck !
