It better be next week!! I want Mhay to have a an april interview so I can have her with me by May....that's when the weather gets nice in alaska.

I hope they dont ask for bank statements from me....I did send my last 6 LES's....that's 6 months of pay history.

Yay! I'm finally here! My daughter got her approval today, but I'm still waiting for my husband's NOA2. I'm praying that he gets his approval soon so we can officially start the NVC thing. NO RFEs please!!!

yeah now i am worried that i NEED an employment letter, but that could take a few extra days etc.... found this though.

so there is a chance they will request those things! eeeep!!

"What income documentation is required?

With their Form I-864, the sponsor is required to submit an IRS transcript or photocopy of only the most recent Federal income tax return. However, the sponsor may, at his or her option, submit Federal income tax returns for the three most recent years if the sponsor believes these additional tax returns may help establish the sponsor's ability to maintain his or her household income at the applicable threshold set forth in the poverty guidelines. The consular officer will determine whether the income stated by the sponsor and documented in the tax return and any other evidence meets the poverty guidelines in effect as of the time of the I-864 was filed with the National Visa Center, the U.S. embassy or consulate. If the income stated by the sponsor does not meet the poverty guidelines then the consular officer may request the sponsor may submit current year income information for additional evidence to reach a determination. If the sponsor is relying on income from any household member or dependents to reach the minimum income requirement, an IRS-issued transcript or a copy of each individual's most recent tax return is also required, and each person must complete a Form I-864A, Contract Between Sponsor and Household member. The consular officer may ask for additional income documentation, such as employment letter. "

Have they generated a bill for the IV? They did not email me notification, I just kept checking on the AOS and I saw that the IV invoice was there. I would send it only if you paid both but your timeline doesn't show that you paid the IV bill. I really wonder why they keep RFEing people, as a precaution I would send everything I can. For me, I am just sending my tax transcripts and w2s and an employment letter...I get paid weekly, I can't be bothered to print out 26 weeks worth of paystubs.

Well we're officially "here" now - NVC assigned us a case # today!

I'm so relieved to be out of USCIS hell...

i just called and talked to an operator (not too happy one)

i asked if i could pay the IV bill before i got the email, she said, "NO!"

then i asked about employment letters and paystubs. she said i need the most recent pay stub because the tax returns are from 2008, so they are too old now. that makes sense.

here is the thing that is making me call again tomorrow morning to talk to another person though.

when i sent in my I-130, i sent in EVERYTHING. the AOS, DS 230, Marriage forms, birth certificates, translations and certifications. i asked if i can just send the photocopies of these files for my AOS package and IV package. this lady said i have to REDO EVERYTHING!!! and that is HARD. i got that marriage translation at a tokyo embassy and paid $30 for one! made the appointment 3 weeks in advance too! so to redo all those things is a BIG deal.

i hope whoever i talk to tomorrow will tell me i can send in photocopies of all that work that is already done and probably already at the NVC....

I'm so serious!!! Im so tired of their ridiculous "its takes 6-8 weeks to review" WHATEVER. So, my last convo with those idiots went something like this.

NVC operator robot/idiot: Miss, our system shows receipt of the DS230 and they are reviewing. It takes 6-8 weeks, so if you have not heard anything by then, call back.

Me: Um, really? thats like Mid April. I have seen where its only taking days to review RFE's for these cases.

NVC operator robot/idiot: Well, those are exceptions. The processing time is what it has always beeen, 6 to 8 weeks.

Is there anything else I can help you with?

Me: No, moron. You given me no help already.

NVC operator robot/idiot: Excuse me?

Me: *dial tone*

Hey!! Maybe thats why they are giving me such a hard time!! LOL.. Im seriousl losing my mind on these rejects...

Ha ha! They must hate a lot of people! I'm sure your not the first nor the last to give them a piece of your mind. I wonder how long an employee works there before she gets stressed out for being chewed out all the time, but then they must not a have a heart because they certainly don't feel our pain.

Holy ####### there were a lot of posts to catch up on!

After the 18th the NVC will implode from it's own ignorance, insensitivity and ineptitude! Just kidding....kind of.

The NVC schedules interviews for the following month during the second week of the previous month. So technically since today the 12th is the last day of the second week of March, it should be the last day they schedule April (or May if it's a busy embassy) interviews. We were told the NVC is going to keep scheduling Embassy interviews into next week because they've had some weather/power/hacking/Haiti/earthquake/March/inbreeding/employee/incompetence issues. After the 18th, we have to wait until the second week in April to get assigned a May (or June) interview. So that's why everyone is drinking and eating heavily today and yesterday. Hoping to get an interview date so they don't have to wait until April.

Sachi, on your list can you leave on the date when people had their packages delivered and then get a LIF so we can see how long it took waiting? Thanks! We still don't know though how soon you can have a LIF/CC and still be able to get a second week interview.....hhhmmmmmm.

RFE AOS - bank statements? depends. Bank statements for co-sponsers only? depends paystubs? depends.

No one knows the answers to these questions, which is why its so F*%$# irritating.

Mrs. maybe you could get a paralegal certificate and we could all run a company which assists people with this process for a small fee? Wouldnt be legal advice, would be cheaper than an attorney, but just a document-based company that could help people like us!

Sachinky could be CEO. We could incorporate. Charge flat rates. Lets do it.

I was just telling my boss the other day that I feel like I am more knowledgeable then my attorney (thanks to you guys) & after this process is done & over with, I too would not mind helping someone in need but at the same time its a stressful job dealing with NVC all over again.

Ok, anyone from Morocco or another tough consulate area (or anyone who knows)...I have a question about documentation to the NVC. Now I have read the shortcuts and the guides and also the NVC website itself so I know the basic documentation that my husband and I will need to send. However, I have also heard of RFE's for things such as:

-my husband's father's birth certificate since he is deceased and from an arab country (lawyer said this)

-although I have a certified, translated copy of our marriage contract, I've heard they want not just copies but originals of the arabic marriage contract (I sent in copies of both with the original application to USCIS)

Are there other such items which aren't on the usual list that anyone knows of? We are going for a June interview but with the fact that my husband is still gathering documents and it takes 3 weeks to get mail to me, I am starting to be concerned that if we end up with an RFE then we'll miss the June interview. I just want him to be able to send everything to me the first time because if we get an RFE like that, then we're a month out at least.
