"What income documentation is required?

With their Form I-864, the sponsor is required to submit an IRS transcript or photocopy of only the most recent Federal income tax return. However, the sponsor may, at his or her option, submit Federal income tax returns for the three most recent years if the sponsor believes these additional tax returns may help establish the sponsor's ability to maintain his or her household income at the applicable threshold set forth in the poverty guidelines. The consular officer will determine whether the income stated by the sponsor and documented in the tax return and any other evidence meets the poverty guidelines in effect as of the time of the I-864 was filed with the National Visa Center, the U.S. embassy or consulate. If the income stated by the sponsor does not meet the poverty guidelines then the consular officer may request the sponsor may submit current year income information for additional evidence to reach a determination. If the sponsor is relying on income from any household member or dependents to reach the minimum income requirement, an IRS-issued transcript or a copy of each individual's most recent tax return is also required, and each person must complete a Form I-864A, Contract Between Sponsor and Household member. The consular officer may ask for additional income documentation, such as employment letter. "

I'd send the letter and pay stubs. The way things are going this week, it's better to send everything you can. They are 'REFing' people for anything.

They must be really bored....Sometimes I try to picture the people who look at the evidence, and decide for their own entertainment to prolong the wait of people who are trying to reunite.....Can we hire a clown to entertain them?

Ha! I like that word.

So true tho. For my AOS, I sent in tax transcripts, 2008, 2007, 2006, 2005 and copy of W2, bank statment for savings account and employment letter. So, an extra tax transcript, a W2, since I didnt file yet for 2009 and a letter and statement. The more the better, I say. If you cant get the employment letter for a couple days, include a few pay stubs. Just to show that you are CURRENTLY employed. That is the key maybe. Gosh, who knows anymore...

I'm so sorry to hear that, I thought the NVC process since it's more engaging would be easier to take, but when you can feel that the end is close makes it so much harder......I wish they would realize that they are dealing with real people not a bunch of papers on their desks....

YES! People... warm blooded, mindful people!

It is not so much sad as it is a norm, friend. An obvious symptom that the "NVC virus" has now taken its course with you. We all are obsessed over one thing or another nowadays.

Honestly tho, dont stress over that- even if you had not put the case number on things you need not worry so much. Its more so the content of things to stress about.

Were all gonna be ok. Ive stared at our forms for hours until I was  ... and STILL found a stupid error. UGH. I could kick myself. Now, instead of waiting for a CC, im waiting for an RFE. :crying:
