I apologize for my ignorance here. I've been away from the thread for the past week or so but what exactly does this post mean? Is it just for the Dom. Rep. embassy or all embassies? Either way, what happens AFTER March 18th?

Holy ####### there were a lot of posts to catch up on!

After the 18th the NVC will implode from it's own ignorance, insensitivity and ineptitude! Just kidding....kind of.

The NVC schedules interviews for the following month during the second week of the previous month. So technically since today the 12th is the last day of the second week of March, it should be the last day they schedule April (or May if it's a busy embassy) interviews. We were told the NVC is going to keep scheduling Embassy interviews into next week because they've had some weather/power/hacking/Haiti/earthquake/March/inbreeding/employee/incompetence issues. After the 18th, we have to wait until the second week in April to get assigned a May (or June) interview. So that's why everyone is drinking and eating heavily today and yesterday. Hoping to get an interview date so they don't have to wait until April.

Sachi, on your list can you leave on the date when people had their packages delivered and then get a LIF so we can see how long it took waiting? Thanks! We still don't know though how soon you can have a LIF/CC and still be able to get a second week interview.....hhhmmmmmm.

XOXOXOXO my insane sistas(and a few new brudas)

Christi and Ian,

Welcome! Be prepared. NVC makes USCIS look like a trip to the beach sipping pina coladas. The good news... You have us to share in your joy, pain, anxiety, and madness.

Alicia and Natalia,

Y'all have a good idea going there! Husby is a lawyer in Thailand. Wait a few months for him to get his license transfered and take the state bar and we'll be golden. He's very good at accepting dircetion from women, too, so there wouldn't be any "Me macho lawyer" #######. Hehehehe!

That's it for me, guys. AVR says a packet of information was generated blah blah blah. It's the e-mail they sent telling me to pay the IV bill and send in the DS-230. DS-230 will be overnighted on Moday. Not worth risking receipt on Saturday with no processing.

Now it's off to the land of Cape Cods and dancing! Good night and good luck, everyone!

If you gave NVC your email then most of these packets/correspondence will be via email. Much faster IMO.

have you read the LingChe shortcut to NVC? Very good guide to FLY though NVC.

- The guide suggest tax transcripts from all those tax return.

- The AOS cover page with the bar code should be on top

- do NOT forget to write your NVC case number on ALL pages.

- As the petitioner you MUST also turn in I-864 (i think this is correct, but double check)

- How about bank statements?

- Employment Letter?

- 6 months of pay stubs?

Looks like Chennai consulate has published the interview dates for April. Took my wind out. Weird part was for April 30th there is only one interview scheduled. I checked the previous three months of scheduling and the last day of the month atleast had 8-10 interviews scheduled.

So looks like there is some slots open and they published it premeturely. Can I call the consulte and request a early interview when my case is complete at NVC? It was so close guys........

Hi VJ'ers,

I just got off the phone with a very nice operator. My AOS has finally showed paid and I wanted to make sure that what I had is sufficient and she said yes. Only w2's and tax transcripts plus cover sheet. Then she asked me why I wasn't sending in the DS-230 as well? I told her because it doesn't show paid but she said I could use the same cover sheet for the AOS. I've never heard that before, anyhow I am still waiting for the police certificate from my wife.

Hmm there are folks here that sent both the AOS and the DS-230 in the same envelope, but i think they all wait until both their AOS fee and IV fee are paid. The cover for the AOS and the DS-230 is a little different: look here:
