Okay, I want to write a nice, detailed story like all of you did, especially after reading Vivek's. So I'm just paraphrasing from the affidavit my husband wrote regarding our relationship.

"I was enrolled at Ithaca College, New York from August 2005 to May 2009 during which I met my wife Sachinky, who was also pursuing her undergraduate degree there. We were introduced by a mutual friend who happened to be my roommate, TML. We met in January 2008 and by February end, we began to see each other romantically. Our love for greasy Chinese buffets and old Tom Cruise movies brought us together. We continued to date each other through the summer and into senior year and our bond deepened as wrote midterm papers together, dozed through theater class, double-dated with friends and roommates, ate terrible dining hall food, partied with friends on the weekend, watched countless hours of cable television and slept over at each other's dorm room. We were inseparable. Sachinky met my parents on two separate occasions -- a weekend before my birthday in October when they came up from Michigan for a visit and during graduation weekend in mid-May.

On March 25, 2009, I proposed to Sachinky and happily, she accepted. After graduation, we lived together for a month in Binghamton. Our decision to get married was well thought out and certainly not something we rushed into. Aware that most college sweethearts have no choice but to part ways following graduation, we hoped to avoid becoming a cliché. When one has found the love of one's life, it is surely foolhardy to let that love go and wonder, twenty years down the line, "what if?"

Although, Sachinky was on a valid F-1/OPT visa and could have filed for Adjustment of Status based on marriage to a U.S. citizen, we decided that we wanted to get married in India so that I could meet her parents and friends in India since she had already met mine. She flew back to Calcutta in June and filed the notice of intending marriage after the required waiting period. I flew to Calcutta for two weeks in August and stayed with Sachinky and her parents at their Calcutta residence. We got married on August 17, 2009 and solemnized our relationship through a civil ceremony, exchange of gold wedding bands and garlands at their residence with a few of her close friends and family as witness. This was followed by a dinner reception held at the Calcutta Club for about 150 guests. A quick one-day honeymoon preceded my departure on August 20, 2009. Because my parents were unable to attend the wedding due to unavoidable circumstances, we hope to have another wedding ceremony in the U.S. following Sachinky's arrival for my parents, family, friends and of course, our college friends."

Hmm here is a question, i have yet to pay my AOS bill I will pay it tomorrow morning . Can I pay the Aos and IV bill at the same time without any complications? just checking.

Yes. I paid mine within couple minutes of each other. Only thing is, AOS showed up paid in couple of days or so (take a look at my timeline) and the IV showed up paid like a week later. But then the site was down quite often so maybe thats why. Good luck!

Ok we just got our check list letter (Missing Document List):

CORRESPONDENCE INSTRUCTIONS:

We are waiting for the form DS-3032 (Choice of Agent) that was previously sent to the beneficiary. This form tells us how to contact the beneficiary during the immigrant visa process.

IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION:

The NVC has received the requested Affidavit of Support form (I-864) for this case. However, we are still waiting for the Immigrant Visa Application (DS-230) and corresponding civil documents for each traveling applicant to be returned to National Visa Center for review. You will find the DS-230 form along with complete instructions for submitting the civil documentation required for this case at www.ImmigrantVisas.state.gov under the Applicant Document Processing link.

We urge you to send in the DS-230 form(s) and required civil documentation for each traveling family member in one package to the National Visa Center (NVC). Sending the information in separately may cause delays in the processing of the case.

What's GOING ON???? This is frustrating that they even list DS-3032. DS-3032 was approved via email. I even snail mailed it in.

What would you guys suggest i should do? There are a few options i can take:

  1. Wait and see - may be just a false RFE.
  2. Resent everything (DS-3032 and DS-230 and supporting documents) - again the DS-230 i did not write my case number on every page.

So your visa is CR1? I thought it was K1 since your profile says it.

Congrats on your approval!!!! I also sent my documents on the 1st (nvc received on the 2nd) and was inputted in the system on the 5th.

Really looking forward to some news tonight.

That cr@py avr said the system could not recognize my case number, please call again later, bye! ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

thank you and good luck to you, you should be approved in a day or two. yes my wife will be getting a CR1 visa. i thought i updated my timeline and visa type, may be it's showing the old one. we previously applied for fiancee visa in march '09 which got denied by uscis in aug '09 since we did not meet each other before applying. we got married in may '09. finally applied for CR1 in september '09 after fiancee visa petition was rejected.

I paid my AOS fee using my GUZ# and had no problem, received the GZO# after the AOS showed paid. I paid the IV Fee using the GZO#, I have been waiting like everyone else for the IN PROCESS to change so I can print the receipt and coversheet for the DS-230. Since you have just got your GZO# , when you call the AVR to check your case status use your GUZ# to access the system. The AVR would not recoginize my GZO#, but went right in with the GUZ#. Good Luck, Robby

That is bizarre, Tharnsur.

Your AOS package and IV package were delivered together, right? But now they one have one? Did they lose the other package? Can you get original documents again? Call and speak to a supervisor maybe. Has your AVR been updated? Mine hasn't, but they did tell us they have it and are processing it.

Sorry if you posted this before, but what did the last operator you spoke to, tell ya?

Wow thats a fantastic resort. I havn't been there but was looking into it to meet up with my wife for a vacation.

So here goes my story.

I met my wife through a online matrimonial website. It was sort of an arranged marriage. Her profile was actually put up by her parents so with her fathers permission I started to talk to her. We started talking to each other in March 2006. We got really comfortable from the get go. Actually I am on the quiter side but she really opened me up. I was in US at the time and my wife in India, still in school. Soon the families met and they got along really well and things were looking really positive.

In July I decided to do a little detour to the whole arranged marriage thing. I asked my wife (Neethu) to meet me in Bangalore(India) for a week away from our home town and without our parents knowledge. She came to Bangalore with her sister and some of her girlfriends. We hit it off really well. We hungout, shopped, dined and partied for a week. I felt I knew all I need to know and I ended up proposing to her at the end of the trip. Needless to say our parents were really pissed that I went all the way to India and did not meet them. I explained to them that if I came with their knowledge I wouldn't have been able to spend so much quality time with her and get to know her this well in a week. Both our families lived in different cities too. So even less time. But they were elated to find out about the proposal.

In Nov 2006 I came back to India again to meet her family. They accepted me with open arms I am very lucky to have them in my life. We decided to get wed in Feb 2007. I was still on my green card so we knew we had a long wait ahead of us. But though time will fly by. Least did we know it was going to be this hard. I quit my job before the wedding and had given a few interviews before I came down. Luckly one of the offers came through and I was able to work out an extension to join them. So I was home for two months with my lovely wife. Unfortunately thats the longest we were together. I tried to travel a lot to see her but it is just not enough. We also did lot of international travels to get some excitement and quality time together away from all the family and relatives. These are my trips after marriage..........

July 2007 - We met in Thailand (Phuket and Bangkok)

Feb 2008 - Went to India ( Celebrated our first Anniversary)

May 2008 - Went to India on a suprise visit (Celebrated my wifes B'day)

Nov-2008 - Met up in Hongkong and Macau (Celebrated my B'day)

Dec-2008 - Went to India (New Years)

May-2009 - Another suprise visit to India........This time she called my bluff

July-2009 - Met up in Bali (Indonesia)

Dec-2009 - India again for 3 weeks

I am hoping the next trip will be her coming to USA.

So there it is, three years and counting stuck in this immigration nightmare. I finally became a US citizen and I can see a light at the end of the tunnel. I really hope we can make up for our lost time and can't wait to start our lifes together. I cannot see her tears anymore.

Intresting story! And a very sweet last sentence. My hubby feels the same. Hope you will be reunited soon!

Tharnsur -- I think it's a False RFE. Why on earth would they ask you to send the DS3032 and DS230 together? You can't send the 230 unless the 3032 has been accepted. However, I would insist that they locate the package since it's most likely in the mail room and not been inputted yet.

Did you send the AOS and DS230 together in ONE envelope? Or separate envelopes?
