A guide to the DS230 packet for Indian beneficiaries.

--Cover sheet for Immigrant Visa Bill of $400.

--Two (2) Passport Size Photographs of Beneficiary (Beneficiary's full name, and date of birth are written on back of both).

--DS-230 Part 1 completed and signed by beneficiary.

--DS-230 Part 2 completed by beneficiary, unsigned, as of yet, per instructions.

--Original Marriage certificate

--Photocopy of Marriage Certificate

--Original Birth Certificate

--Photocopy of Birth Certificate

--Original Police Clearance Certificate from Local Police Station, Calcutta

--Original Police Clearance Certificate from Regional Passport Office, Calcutta

--Photocopy of beneficiary's Indian passport.

I864

First thing, I would recommend is that you print out the I-864 form and read the instructions about 2 times. Mark out the relevant portions and ask any questions you might have after that. I would suggest you read the guides for a comprehensive idea about how the AOS packet will comprise.

Recommended AOS package:

I-864 Coversheet (with barcode) for payment of $70

Form I-864 (signed and dated)

2008 Federal Tax Return/W2 and 1099s or IRS tax transcript.

2007 Federal Tax Return and W2 and 1099s or IRS tax transcript.

2006 Federal Tax Return/W2 and 1099s or IRS Tax Transcript

Letter of Employment

Pay stub(s) from the most recent six months

Bank Statements.

Some people are choosing to send in 2009 W2s.

Remember, the USC petitioner will file a I-864 regardless of income. If your joint sponsor lives in the same household as the petitioner, then they will use I-864A. If they live in a separate residence, then they will fill in another I-864.

For your joint sponsor you will need proof of their citizenship/residency. For household member, you will need proof of relationship and same household/residence.

--Skim through the Stupid RFE pinned thread before you send out the packages. And have someone else go over it. Your eyes tend to glaze over when repeatedly viewing your own information. I had my mom and uncle (both familiar with basic info) go over the forms before we mailed them out.

Alright folks, here's my update.

I was on my way to work this morning when I thought I should listen to the AVR just for kicks. And the message was still the same except the date had changed again. It said missing information,letter sent on the 10th. So I was like, I got through to the AVR on the first try, maybe its not that busy, and I ended up waiting for 10 minutes before I reached Natalie. She said they had finally reviewed my DS-230 and put it in and that they still require the PCC from the police authorities and that I could use their email to show as proof to obtain one since my wife's local police district wont issue it unless they see a direct letter requesting it. I hope the email suffices.

So that's where I am at right now. Told the wife, we were both prepared for this all along, so no shocker here.

Now where's that May interviews thread again?

May interviews are us.. I started the thread. We can all mosey in on there pretty soon.. dont fret, like you said, no real shocker. Im still waiting on my RFE too on our DS230... I hope the senator inquiry on my case will speed things up or create a but.. the more the days go by with no LIF CC, i feel the RFE is just a matter of time. Wish they'd hurry up, I have a brand new DS230 all ready to go. Course, I hear theres a NEW DS230, but it doesnt look diff than the last. Thoughts anyone?

Ok no update here. Same AVR message and the same "we're waiting for your ds-230" from the operator. Would it delay our case if we send off another DS-230 packet? this waiting is killing me:(

it would just run the risk of more delay. Ive come to the conclusion that NVC is operated by a bunch of mindless beings who are under experiement from the Federal Government.

hi i am new member. my case falls under ir2 category. the case for my minor child was approved by uscis on feb17, 2010 and nvc assigned case # on 22nd feb. the avr says it sent ds3032 and aos packages to beneficiary and a copy to the petitioner on 24th feb 2010 but both parties have not received it till today. what could be the possible reasons? any suggestions?

Raj--You should have received them in your email by now. Check your spam/junk folders. If not, call them and request them to email it to you again.

Raj--You should have received them in your email by now. Check your spam/junk folders. If not, call them and request them to email it to you again.

The ds3032 was sent by snail mail on 24 feb. I gave them e-mail id on 5th march. no results. do you think i should wait for another day or so before calling them again.

Good news for those people of faith that are waiting for case complete an operator told to a friend of mine that they will be scheduling interviews until march 18th
