The AVR is as busy as I've every experienced today. Probably everyone worried about their case since they were closed friday... just like me. Has anyone else gotten through today? More or less, I'm just checking to see if they're open.

Good morning VJ'er,

Ok i know some of you are sending mail through UPSP with signature required and your mail were not delivered this past Friday and Saturday. When checking the status of the package, i got the following:

What should i do? does NVC normally go pick undelivered mail up at the post office? Should i call to USPS to redeliver the package?

I called and they were not helpfull I just going to think as Darnell said to me that it will be delivered the amount of mail that they receive per day is huge so they are aware that they could not work on friday due the situation of the blackout

Ok was going through the Lingche shortcut and happened to click on the ds320 and saw "complete one copy of this form for yourself and each member of your family, regardless of age, who will be immigrate with you. Ok so I get that part but then I start to get confused when i think about it.

I am the ben, I have a three year old son.

1) I have to fill out two of these forms one for me and one for him as he is to immigrate with me.... ok but that is for MY case file.

Do I have to file out a ds320 for his case and then file out one again for me as we are immigrating together.

So I get confused when I think about these things as I dont see a guide as to what happens with a child case.

all together that would be 4 forms?

Did you file a CR2 for your son? You should have 2 seperate case numbers.... the only thing that is combined is the AOS fee. Only 1 needed for both. But you should have filed his own I-130 and when it got to NVC you should have called to have the 2 cases joined.

Is this child the son of a US Citizen (ie - the petitioner?) if so - you need to go through CRBA (Consulate Record of Birth Abroad). If not, then you SHOULD have had filed, a 2nd I-130, for a CR-2 petition. Talk with yer USCitizen Spouse, inquire if only 1 I-130 petition was filed. If only 1, then it's time to file a 2nd I-130 petition for your son.

Good Luck !

No he is not the us citizens child by birth. We filed two i-130's and yes we have two seperate cases. I did call and give an email for my case and called back and found out that they used my husbands email for my sons case email. I am guessing that means that they joined them?

This is complicated for me, So do i treat this as two seperate cases and follow the directions as if i was doing two cases or do i treat this as one case?

It's 2 seperate cases... But, they need to be connected at NVC. its easy to do, just a phone call. The only time that they are concedered 1 case is when paying the AOS fee. it's only required to be paid 1 $70.00 fee. when you log in it will show related case. I have the same issue. I have a 11yo step-daughter. We also have 2 babies together 1 has already completed CRBA and the baby girl is waiting for her birth cert.

Goodluck

I cant wait to be tomorrow..guys how can I deal with the situation of my packages..for those who does not know I sent my packages last thursday certified express and they were delivered to NVC on Friday at 11.00 a.m and due the situation of the blackout there was nobody at the NVC and the USPS left a message ..that they THE NVC must request a redelivery if not in 3 days my packages will be return.. How can I make sure that they go tomorrow to pick it up?? I am pretty sure that my packages are not the only one retained at the USPS office and perhaps the NVC has deal with this situation before...should I speak with an Operator or with a Supervisor..??
:wacko::wacko::wacko::wacko::wacko::wacko:

how long does it take after I complete the NVC process before I stop having all these acronyms in my brain??

PPL I am totally freaking out... I will be lucky if I have any hair on my head when I see my husband next!! I am loosing globs and globs of it... I was thinking that it was stressfull waiting at the USCIS for my NOA2... now.. wow... I just am praying that I havent screwed anything up... I am sure everyone knows that has read any of my post.. that I am a little slow.. not to mention I am dyslexic <self diagnosed> :whistle: I have checked everything in my AOS package atleast a dozen times.. I even tried to get my dad to look it over.. but he just :blink: at me... Oh well... Tomorrow I am sending the AOS... and then I can be back to myself... praying praying and more praying

go team NO RFE's!!!

Ha ha!!!! (self diagnosed) I feel your pain!

I agree. If my payments wasn't clear at the same time we would have sent separately. Don't worry too much Melody. You will be just fine.

Guys, I was looking through the barcoded sheet and for the AOS it says to mail to a different department at NVC:

For AOS -> Attn. CMR AOS

For DS230-> Attn. CMR

Does it make any difference? We decided to mail in different envelopes, since the department is different. How did you guys do?

I noticed that too! I think you were right in using diff envelopes!

Ok Everyone.. im a lil late in this morning. any news??? I know we have undelivered packages, packages for review to send this week, Sachinky's BS RFE.. who am I missing? Plz fill me in e.body. Postive vibes for MARCH!

Bless Up ALLEN! :dance: I wonder if NVC employees know just how SIGNIFICANT they are to us. How even a special attempt at being kind and informative can make all the difference in the world. And a rude person or lack of info or consideration can just ruin our entire day. Having the one you love farther than the sky is truly a struggle and I wouldnt wish it on anyone!
