uggggh.... so I just got off the phone with the operator... which was a total waste of my time... when I call the AVR msg has changed and it says, the NVC has recieved your documents on March 9th please allow 6-8 weeks to review and then notify you of the outcome" which before when I had called it had said that the NVC is waiting on the biographic forms from the petitionor.. bla bla bla.... So I called and talked with an operator... and she said that one packet is under review right now... and that she is not seeing the other packet... I was like auuuuugh and was very put out with her... I told her about the msgs in the AVR and asked her to explain them to me then since they still only have the one package on review and from what I had gathered both should be on review right now... she assured me that both packages were there, but that they have a huge mailroom and many departments.. I interupted her and said I know they are there I FedExed them and I know who signed for them... She then told me that she would bet that if I called back later today that they would have both packages loaded on there computer... <why couldnt she just say this in the first place> it is like they see all our information, but only want to tell you tid bits of ###### just to piss ya off... or maybe I am just irritable... idk

I personally am not going to call back and talk to an operator until after I get a log in fail and I am verifying a case complete or... well I dont want to jinx myself so I am not going to say it... lets just say I am not going to call them back for awhile...

record time in calling right now though... got through in 1 min

Hmm looks like we have pretty much the same timeline getting our packages to them...the AVR just changed for me this moring too...saying that they received the packet of info. I was going to talk to an operator today, but I think i will wait and see what happens.

Also dear.... I have mine here, but I'm leaving now to get the last shot of vaccination.... if you didn't find I can email you mine and you can see what it is.

OMG! I'm worried now! Hope they don't ask for mine. Sachi was also on a J1 visa and they didn't RFE her about it. So inconsistent!

My hubby was too in the States on a J1 Visa.

Dont worry Tharnsur, I have been in the same boat since the 5th.

I called yesterday and they said the same thing, they havent received my DS-230 yet, and it was delivered on the 23rd of Feb.

So hang in there and call back on Friday, thats what I'm planning on doing.

Till then, I'm gonna take my mind off of this cr@p and go work out and burn those calories I picked while at an Indo-Chinese buffet here yesterday,mmmmmm.... that food was paradise, I'm going back this weekend...

I went to an Indian buffet around 2pm yesterday & ate so much that I didnt eat again till this morning. I miss Indian food.

Dear All,

After hearing all the stories and the mishaps of NVC, I sometimes feel guilty that our case had gotten passed everything so quickly. Going back to when I started, I was one of the few that had no problem in getting a K3 for my wife. It was processed quickly and without any RFE. She came to visit the U.S. and loved it. We decided to return to Cambodia so that I could finish up some life long dream of doing charity work in Cambodia.

So we thought it was a good decision to escape the U.S. financial crisis by spending time in Cambodia helping people in need, while also living with my wife and waiting for our two year anniversary to process the IR1 visa. That way she could receive a greencard and ss# when she visits the U.S. next time.

Some of you might recall a few weeks back I was deeply concerned about a tax debt I had with the IRS. I have not gotten around to work out a payment plan being that I've been oversea for quite some time. Nonethless, my I 864 passed through the NVC without any problem. I also had a co-sponsor which filed a joint tax return with his wife. Their combined income nears 100K but I had thought that there could be an RFE as to why his wife didn't sign a second I 864. I was worried that my income being in the negative for 2008 and 2009 would trigger some sort of RFE. My foreign earned income for the past few years are considered negative income on tax returns. But none of this triggered an RFE.

It's possible that our case passed through NVC quickly because my wife has a K3 visa. They know that a lot of the paperwork and scrutiny had already been done.

On a positive note to those with RFEs, you should be glad that you are receiving an RFE now, and not wait for things to pop up at the interview. Even though my case is complete, it's not really complete until a VISA is in hand.

I hope this helps alleviate some of your frustrations and perhaps will make your interview that much easier.

Bless your heart for the charity work. Maybe is good Karma going your way!

WOOT WOOT... my internet was down.. so I couldnt share with yall... but the knome that works the mailroom must of found my DS-230 package and given it too someone important... the AVR msg had changed yesturday and now says that all documents have been recieved and to wait 6-8 weeks :D

Tax transcripts are from IRS. Call them and request, and they mail you the transcript for that year/years you request. Takes the place of the W-2 and 1040 form. Takes 5-qo working days to get, and are free.

They can also fax them to you.

Hmm looks like we have pretty much the same timeline getting our packages to them...the AVR just changed for me this moring too...saying that they received the packet of info. I was going to talk to an operator today, but I think i will wait and see what happens.

Good idea.......... It will take the operator couple of days to see this updated information. Thats kind of whats happening atleast for this week. Recommed not speaking to an operator today.........You will get conflicting timelines and lose your sanity.

I have 2 general questions.

How does the NVC notify us of the interview date when it comes to that point?

On the embassy website it says:

"You should schedule your medical appointment no later than six weeks before your intended date of departure to the United States, and no earlier than six months before your departure date."

Is this a hardline? Or is this a guideline in case additional tests or something are needed? The way it is written seems to imply that you cannot depart for the US until 6 weeks after the medical.

I don't know for sure, but i am guessing if there is further testing that they need to do, you want to have it all cleared and no delays to your "plans". I know for the philippine people, they sometimes get their medical a couple of days before their interview and then leave almost right as soon as they get the visa. Is this something you found on the US embassy in germany site? I dont remember reading that on the manila embassy site.

So I'm guessing this is where I can vent a little bit about my experience :) I am a March-er in the NVC... received a case number on February 26th... paid the AOS and IV fee on March 2nd. I'm still waiting for the "paid" status, which is just another 'hurry-up-and-wait' portion of this loooonnnnggg journey. I'm anxious to move on and submitt my I-864 so that the NVC can send my junk to the embassy. The anticipation is killing me! I just want to be done already, the constant checking, the paper printing and form-filling, I'm about to go blind!!! It will all be worth it when I have my husband in my arms, I'm sure. Ayyy! Can I getta Amen?
