jdr - they are missing the whole ds-230 package. I told her NVC signed for both the IV and AOS packages the same day. She said to wait 2-3 weeks:(((

Dear All,

After hearing all the stories and the mishaps of NVC, I sometimes feel guilty that our case had gotten passed everything so quickly. Going back to when I started, I was one of the few that had no problem in getting a K3 for my wife. It was processed quickly and without any RFE. She came to visit the U.S. and loved it. We decided to return to Cambodia so that I could finish up some life long dream of doing charity work in Cambodia.

So we thought it was a good decision to escape the U.S. financial crisis by spending time in Cambodia helping people in need, while also living with my wife and waiting for our two year anniversary to process the IR1 visa. That way she could receive a greencard and ss# when she visits the U.S. next time.

Some of you might recall a few weeks back I was deeply concerned about a tax debt I had with the IRS. I have not gotten around to work out a payment plan being that I've been oversea for quite some time. Nonethless, my I 864 passed through the NVC without any problem. I also had a co-sponsor which filed a joint tax return with his wife. Their combined income nears 100K but I had thought that there could be an RFE as to why his wife didn't sign a second I 864. I was worried that my income being in the negative for 2008 and 2009 would trigger some sort of RFE. My foreign earned income for the past few years are considered negative income on tax returns. But none of this triggered an RFE.

It's possible that our case passed through NVC quickly because my wife has a K3 visa. They know that a lot of the paperwork and scrutiny had already been done.

On a positive note to those with RFEs, you should be glad that you are receiving an RFE now, and not wait for things to pop up at the interview. Even though my case is complete, it's not really complete until a VISA is in hand.

I hope this helps alleviate some of your frustrations and perhaps will make your interview that much easier.

**** filed K3/CR1 concurrently. My wife and I both work/live overseas. The following timeline continues from the approval of the K3 VISA.

As with me estrella, I think the OLD #### records were destroyed, so I just need to get a letter saying that. Maybe you can do that if you contact your school or whoever gave you the DS 2019.

I just want to know what does this have to do with CR1 visa?? because I can understand they ask for my visa at the interview just to check the time that I was there but NOW.. oh NVC..I hope I have the pleasure to meet any staff from there

ME TOO!!! My husband has a British NATIONAL fricken Police Clearance, sealed, certified, a few months old, with ALL of the details of his ticket 10 years ago, fine paid, traffic school and NO jail time, and they need the little rinky-dink local courthouse records. Which probably don't exist anymore. He's working on it now. I said goodbye to April, but we 100% still have a chance for May! I don't think any of our group are going to get April interviews though : ( : ( NVC is not functioning properly for whatever reason. : (

Estrella, what agency can you call to get a copy of this paper? As I said, if they were destroyed, will a letter saying as much be enough for NVC? I'm sure it will be.

They might want to check the J-1 to see if you're subject to the 2 year home residency requirement. I'm not sure of your particular circumstances, but I sent all of my wife's J-1 info to the USCIS so that they could see where it was written on there "not subject to 2 year home residency requirement".

I hope that all it is. Good luck.

I call my sponsorship program they said that the only thing that they can give me is a letter and perhaps I can add a copy of my J1 visa ..is been 4 years for god sake

do you guys think that perhaps at the social security office they can help me giving me a copy of this?? I remember that I need to give that paper to them. if I had the copy I am pretty sure is damage after the hurricane and the heavy rain back in 2006 that damage a lof of stuff in my home

Estrella, how are you doing babe?

I feel your pain friend! Don't give up!

Get the company to write a letter stating that you did participate in the program. And then you write another letter saying you didn't keep any records of it.

Hope they will accept. Did you call them to ask what's going on?

Editing.... Sachi was on F1 visa, not J1, but I think she also had a ds like ours.

Let me know if you want to see my copy!

hey guys! i asked this in another thread, but i figure this thread also has a lot of helpful people in it too who may have advice!

"i got the email for my AOS bill and the agent forms!!! but what is the BEST thing to do with this??

for the agent, HE has to MAIL it to the NVC??? from the country abroad?? i cannot do it for him??? you cannot email that form at all to the NVC???

for AOS, just pay online, then, once the money says paid, new instructions will be given to you????"

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...t&p=3560467

That should help, a bit, for the BEST thing to do.

In an effort to save time, some people have their foreign spouse send off a filled out and signed ds-3032 to them, on or around the NOA-2 date. Usually, NVC is 'ready to go' with yer casefile about 2 weeks past the NOA-2 date, so the timing is perfect. Others learn about the DS-3032 after the NOA-2 date. Heck - even some people have their foreign spouse SIGN the form, during the last trip.

IMO, this document has 'original signature requirement' - ie - a copy won't be accepted. Which would also mean that a scanned image of the original, sent to you via email from yer foreign spouse, won't be acceptable also. Some people take this route, and it works, but it's not gospel - I'd chalk it up to a document reviewer being lax or tired.

There is nice email template to use, for ASCII. IMO, that should be emailed FROM the foreign spouse's email account, in his/her country.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Sean John - good advice. I need to get back to the gym. Back in college i have less than 5% body fat, now i'm doubling that. Through out this whole NVC process i was trying to do stuff to keep my mind occupied when i'm at home by building a new computer and trying to overclock it. I was able to overclocked an intel i7 920 2.67 ghz to 3.8 ghz and it's running cool and stable. See my screen shots here: http://picasaweb.google.com/tharnsur/VJ#

Sean John - just normal air cool using a third party heat sink. I was able to run it at 4.0 ghz (50% increase in frequency speed) but it failed prime 95 so i don't want to take a risk using it.
