NVC finally received our case Friday. My hubby and I are wondering about the docs we need to send into NVC for his ds230.

Does NVC take notarized duplicates of the birth certificate and marriage license from India? I am not talking about a photocopy but a duplicate copy with notary seal & signed by notary. We just are not sure if we have to have original. I already sent a notarized duplicate with our USCIS application. I assume that got forwarded to NVC

Anyone else in the same situation???

indianbride - i don't think they'll take "notorized" copy. They will only take CERTIFIED or original documents. Use this VJWiki to help you get through this process. http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/..._NVC_Processing

NVC will not accept attested/notarized copies of the original. All documents for DS-230 has to the original or certified copies of the original (Issued by the same agency that issued the original).

Help!!

Finally, I received a email from NVCGuangzhou, unfortunately, bad news, totally. NVCGuangzhou said they were unable to locate any record of mine. It seems my case is under review. All right, I emailed NVCInquiry@state.gov ASAP, and I called NVC, the hotline is pretty too busy to reach. I will call NVC again, to reach a human to ask what happened on my case. By the way, AVR said NVC has received my DS-3032 on March 05, 2010

What happened? sucks!!

The following is the original message from NVCGuangzhou:

Dear Ms. He,

We have checked our files, using the case numbers you provided, but we were unable to locate any record. We also checked both possible sequences of given name and surname, but also with negative results.

It is likely that the case file is still in transit from the National Visa Center in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. In general, you must contact the NVC if you want to participate in the electronic processing program. Please contact NVC via email at NVCInquiry@state.gov to see if your case is under review. Other ways to contact NVC can be found http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3177.html. We hope this email is of assistance.

Sincerely,

Immigrant Visa Unit

This sounds like you used the web portal email thingie on the GUZ website, at least by the footer of the email.

I'm sorry, but you really need to figure out the right OPT IN address for NVC Electronic Processing.

I've posted it in a wiki page - it's up to you, to use it.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Ok, so on the 6th I emailed the DS-3032 template through to the NVC even though they hadn't requested it yet. I'd already called and given mine and my wifes email addresses to an operator. Today I get an automated email from the NVC saying this..

Dear Sir/Madam:

Your inquiry has been received at the National Visa Center (NVC).

Based upon the information received, the NVC is unable to determine the

date of birth for the petitioner. Please submit a copy of a

government-issued document indicating the date of birth (e.g. valid

passport, birth certificate, marriage certificate). The document must

include the month, day, and year of birth.

Please be advised our office has revised our guidelines for

communication between the National Visa Center and the public. We are

now required to verify case information each time we receive an inquiry.

The initial followed the template for the DS-3032 exactly, and gave the date of birth of both my wife, and myself. The AVR message hasn't changed and is still the first one stating when the case was entered into their system.

Should I just wait for the AVR to change, and they request the DS-3032 and resend the email, or send in the details they've asked for, even though they would have recieved both a birth certificate and marriage certificate with the USCIS case?

Thanks

I've just spoken to the NVC about the date of birth, and it seems like somehow they DO have the wrong DoB for my wife and want her to send in another copy of her birth certificate.

When she sends this in does she need any kind of cover letter, or can she just write the NVC case number on the top and send it on its own?

Thanks

I emailed both NVCElectronic and NVCGuangzhou with un-barcode DS-3032 on March 03, 2010, but I did not get any response, so I used the web portal email on the GUZ website to ask the Electronic Processing thing again on March 04, and I got the response from GUZ website today. GUZ IV unit will know NOTHING about yer petition, until it is actually OPENED at GUZ. Period.

I understand that sometimes ppl want to make 'shotgun effect' - contacting all entities about a petition - but.

Basically, you've wasted someone's time in Guangzhou.

Bad on You, IMO.

I get this sense that you are not understanding scope and domain - ie - what does Guangzhou IV unit do,

and what does NVC do, with yer petition...

I pray you get some understanding about what's going on -

and .. I'm sorry NVC has 'blown up' over these last few days.

NVC Electronic Processing IS NOT FASTER, on average, than the fastest paper processing -

but it does shave off time for 'getting an interview date set' through the IV unit at Guangzhou.

If I had super magic genie powers, I'd grant you 'patience' - as thats exactly what you need, at this moment.

Hang in there, and Good Luck !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
