Slovakia wins! Canada vs. Slovakia in one semi-final and the US vs. Finland in the other.

Dave was up all night watching Sweden-Slovakia. He knows more about the Swedish players than he does the U.S players. :lol: I am still in mourning but at least Dave is happy since I'm now routing for the U.S. and the U.S. only. Now I'm hoping for a reversed repeat of Salt Lake City where Canada beat the U.S. at home.

Me neither, but that's life. I might as well get used to cheering for my new country. :)

Canada sure picked it up against Russia after having a bit of a slow start in the tournament.

There next game is against the team from Helsinki. If the US wins then they will play the winner of the Canada/Slovakia game. If the US loses they'll be Finnished. :rofl:

Well there you have it, USA versus Canada for the Gold.....

Predictions?

Both teams are flaky but if Canada collapses like they did against the Slovaks, USA will win. I think Canada will win but it's going to be close.

I really hope USA wins. I think it will be a tough game either way. It's the two best teams, that's for sure.

Those last few minutes were a nail biter, for sure. Going from a comfortable 3-0 lead to 3-2 was pretty scary, and the pressure the Slovaks put on at the very end was impressive. They played well.

I have no idea who I'm rooting for on Sunday. My dual nationalities are certainly in conflict now. May the best team win, I guess.

I half expected the Slovaks to win going in but then Canada jumped into a big lead early. Luongo is solid and so is Ryan Miller. Canada started playing like they did against Team USA near the end of the game. I don't know who will win, but if Canada plays the whole game like they did in the second period of the round robin game then it will be very interesting but Canada will win. If the Canadians start playing the way they did in the third period of tonight's game then the US will probably win.
