Simple mind, simple pleasures. Glad I could amuse you.

I sense there is no sincerity there at all ;) Regardless, as these are 'art forms' in your opinion, where should these events be showcased? Do you think that the Olympics should be divided into 'artistic events' and 'sporting' events? Or should these events simply be dropped from the 'sporting' calendar? Yours after all is the voice against the tide, as currently these are considered sports by well, most everyone else including the umbrella sporting bodies that host these sporting events.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

This is really a pointless conversation.

I agree...sort of...but Canada DID have 45 shots, which is quite a high total...

Early and they were long range shots with no one around for a rebound. Shots on goal when the goaltender has a unobstructed view and/or little traffic aren't quality scoring chances. All Canadian goals were tip ins or deflections in close. I see the Leafs play this long range no follow up nonsense against the Sabres and Miller kills them Look at that last Crosby goal. Once in the third period, I can't remember who it was but one of the forwards for Team Canada had a nice gap in the slot and he didn't shoot and just kept passing. One-timers are great but against a quick team they rarely present themselves. Jam the net, cause havoc and good things will happen.

I've always felt that a great goalie is 50% of the equation to a great team. Ironically, I always remember as a kid having awesome goalies and being unstoppable in playoffs......and then someone decides to trip and fall into the goal....injuring the goalie and throwing him out of the playoffs. Meh

Obviously, this doesn't happen in the Olympics, but it was always a shame.

More like 90%. A hot goalie causes the other team to lose focus and that screws up the works. The goalie can't do everything but he or she can make the five players in front play their best.

Slovakia wins! Canada vs. Slovakia in one semi-final and the US vs. Finland in the other.

Women's final will be US vs. Canada, coming up later today.
