reading through this thread, it seems most of you did all the paper work/processing yourself. i was thinking of going through an attorney that specializes in this type of thing - do any of you veterans have an opinion on that? good idea, if i want to make sure it's done correctly / followed through?

if it's a good idea, do you recommend a specific place to go through for a K-1?

We did everything ourselves, you get good instructions from this site. No point of paying the lawyer, they cant do anything more you can do yourself. Good luck !!

My 129-F was approved and was sent to Cuba a few weeks ago...

Well, I called today and spoke to someone at the US Int. Sect. in La Havana, but they told me I they could not schedule anything without a passport #. I asked them if I could make an appt. for my fiance to pick up his packet, and she told me that I could not make an appointment for that-- that they would contact him by phone or mail to let him know (and could not even tell me for sure which method it would be)... I am very confused b/c it doesn't seem like there is a set answer of how the process works.

Thanks,

Katy
