How does that work...? You literally just wander into the place at 9am and be like, "Can I do this now instead?" And they just let you? If so, I'm definitely trying it out!

based on what i read on different forums, walk-in biometrics usually works. It could also depend on your local office.

You can try though. I would try my luck tomorrow and let them know that I can't make it on the date of my appointment.

Mine starts with V.... I think it's based on the order they receive the files, not alphabetical order. Though obv I don't know for sure! :)

Yesterday received a request to go in and redo my fingerprints :( I guess my hands are too small and dainty. Maybe I should go do some heavy manual labor to roughen them up a bit.

Ironically, my original biometrics appointment was supposed to be today! (I only rescheduled because I have classes and finals all day today.) Now the new appointment is two weeks out.

Hey February filers! Congrats on how fast all your cases are moving - that's awesome.

Over walk ins I was a November filer and almost everyone that wanted to do a walk in in our group was able to except 3 of us! At the time I was disappointed to get turned away and was concerned it might slow things down. But in the end it didn't seem to slow my case down relative to others who had done walk ins. Our EADs seemed to come based on filing date not biometrics date... The interview dates for our group seemed to be based on how busy our local offices were. Mine seemed about average, in fact there were 1 or 2 people who'd applied around the same date as me and did walk ins and ended up waiting longer than me for interview.

But hey if you have time to do a walk in and they let you - why not - you never know, especially if your local office isn't too busy it might help. Good Luck to all of you

just go to google and type in USCIS service center, click the first link and search for the nearest one. My drive wasnt as bad as I thought it would be plus there was a Ikea furnature store next to it so we stop to look for furnature afterwards. I hope this speeds up the process
