Has anyone heard anything on their EAD?

Weeeeeee!   I just got a text from USCIS this afternoon saying "Your case MSCXXXXXXXXXX is now updated. Check "My Case Status" at www.uscis.gov."

And when I logged in (using my iPhone cuz I was out and about) it turns out it was the I-765. The status had jumped from "Initial Review" (which it had been stuck on for 2 months) to "Document production or Oath Ceremony". The status message says:

"On April 23, 2010, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283."

Funny thing is, just yesterday I had submitted papers to apply for CPT, and since CPT requires you to add an "internship" class to the schedule I had to pay the late fee because it's so late in the quarter. If only I'd waited another day!! :(

Oh, and forgot to add that when I got home and logged on to my USCIS case status account, it shows touches for both EAD and AP today. However, there were no touches for the I-485 or I-130, showing last updated as 2 months ago, although I received the interview letter a week or two ago.

Also, this was the first time I'd ever received a text message from USCIS. I never received any emails though.

My last touch was the 23rd on my I-130 and I-485, and on the 15th for the EAD. But they all still say initial review, so... *shrug* I'm not really holding my breath at this stage. And my interview is on Tuesday so it doesn't matter anymore.

I had a dream about the interview last night. They said I'd brought the wrong paperwork so I had to go home and reschedule another interview for June. I'm thinking about it way too much, obviously!

My (part-time) job starts the first Monday of May, so that's a little over a week. CPT takes a week to process. So, to be on the safe side, I decided to go ahead and apply for it so that I will definitely have some kind of work authorization when I start. My interview isn't until mid-May, and although I was hopefully estimating that the EAD would arrive by the end of this month, I didn't want to take the chance. Also, a lot of people on VJ were saying they may have even put the EAD on hold since the interview was coming up. (Although I did call the USCIS hotline and they said that was not the case.)

Yea im suppose to start my new job tuesday and some how thought that they wadnt ask for work permit since they hired me, well im required to show a work permit my first day. lol. So im hoping I get my EAD in the mail monday lol. If not then I told them I would have to wait until the following weeks after my interview. I am going to ask the interviewer to stamp my passport because a stamp is good for work as well.

lol I guess everyone got touches on the 23rd. Im kinda feeling like I don't have all my paperwork either. im going to look over everything again in a min. I am thinkin about coping everything and making a big stack for the interviewer to have and then just show him the original in the same order. I heard they are impress when your prepared like that and make their job easy.

Yeah i figured i should because we don't have any bills in our name except cable, car and health insurance but that to me doesn't seem very strong. I am going through e-mails looking for stupid ones that aren't personal. Yeah i think taking in something that has the same address as your spouse is probably good that is what i am going to use for our vet bills because they are in mine or my husbands name with the same address, just separate bills.

really, how do u save them in there for so long?

I am going to take pictures as well from about 5 years ago and some from our wedding as well. I am going to make copies of those hopefully they don't take my real ones.

I'm getting a bit stressed about paperwork. It's a pain in the #### to get anything with our names on it, for some reason. Stupid LA. I didn't manage to get the electric bill in both names because they remain insistent that I need an SSN to be put on the bill. So we have:

- Joint bank account

- Joint lease

- Family Plan cell phones

- Joint gym membership

- the gas bill with my name listed as "spouse of account holder"

- Photographs ranging from the first time we met all the way through various trips to see each other, the wedding, and life here up until the most recent photos from 3 weeks ago

- Wedding cards and Christmas cards addressed to us both

- Originals of birth certs, marriage cert and tax info

- Cost Co cards with the same account number, because Cost Co were also jerks about the SSN thing when I asked them

- email itineraries from plane trips back and forth over 3 years

- a small number of personal emails we exchanged. We don't have too many because we Skyped a lot, and I also chose not to print some because of the highly intimate nature of them

- I also had him print the first page of every month of his phone bill for the last couple of years, just to highlight my phone number and show that we have been calling each other every day for 3 years

I'm kind of worried because a lot of our evidence is stuff like emails or cards, and we don't have anything like joint health insurance or car insurance. Which means we don't have much to show the co-mingling of assets, besides the bank account and gas bill. But there isn't much I can do about not having insurance. I'm just hoping they accept that I haven't been here long enough to amass a great deal of evidence (after all, I was technically a tourist until December!) but what we do have is personal to us. I previously mailed them a letter from my sister-in-law and my best friend that attested to the fact that we've been together for years and they both attended the wedding.

I made copies of everything as well, for the millionth time. They already have copies of most stuff but better safe than sorry!
