Bringing Alcohol Into US from Manila and Tokyo

My fiancee is flying to the US this week (yayyyyyyyyyyy). She'll fly from Manila-Tokya-Houston. Can she buy alcohol (Filipino rhum from Manila airport and sake from Tokyo airport) and bring onto the plane (Japan Airlines and Continental are the airlines if that matters) in her carry on?

I don't think that the bottles purchased in Manila will be able to be brought through the transit security check at Narita.

no - she cannot have anything in her carry on, that's liquid.

However -

if she buys it in the DUTY FREE SHOP, anywhere alongst her journey - it will be 'carried' for her on the flights. or

she can put it into her CHECKED LUGGAGE - no worries there.

if she buys anything at the Duty Free in Manila, she needs to tell the air stewardess to help her get it INTO the plane in Tokyo, showing the head steward the flight info on the 'next jump'. Basically, yer lass cannot touch it, once she's paid for it, until she comes off the plane in Houston.

Is some big problem with liquids and terrorism, but as long as 'Duty Free' - she has some hope to 'get it done'.

Have her get before she go to the airport and put in her checked bag ur allowed 2 bottles i think.I just come back from manila and bring back 2 bottles of rum.

Only if first in Checked Luggage.

Impossible to do via Carry On.

My last trip to the PI, I put a variation of things in a box two of them being liquor. My box was opened for inspection by TSA everything in side was opened up as well, and had a inspection sticker from the PI.... my Crown Royal was safe.

ok thanks all. I wonder if they'll be a promlem with her inbound flight to Manila then from Butuan on Cebu Pacific Air? I guess not if she checks the rum there too?

ok great. Thanks Michael. I smoke cigars and I'm having her bring some of them back and some freeze-dried mangoes - I'm addicted to them things
