Dave, how can you possibly compare the two statements?

GHWB was essentially telling an entire segment of the American people - atheists - that their right to citizenship should be forfeited, and that he questioned their loyalty. Somewhere between 1-5% of Americans (3million to 15million) identify themselves as atheists. These are voters, taxpayers, servicemen and women in our armed forces. But they should be ostracized according to GHWB because of their religious beliefs.

In contrast, Obama counted the number of Muslim-Americans, and WITHOUT rejecting them, WITHOUT considering them second-class citizens, claimed that America is stronger for their contribution to our multicultural society.

One looking for wedge issues to divide our people. The other looking to unify and celebrate diversity.

There are people here who cannot look at a single, isolated issue without bringing in something totally irrelevant.

Presumably you are supposed to be put on the defensive by the Obama quote, because clearly if you don't like him you MUST like Obama.

That's the kind of mentality on display here. It's a bit childish.
