Hello!

I am from Germany and I got convermation that my paperwork is approved from the uscis. Can I mail my documens (DS-230I, DS-156(2),DS-156K,DS-157), and do I have to mail the document checklist? Or do I have to go to the usembassy to get that done? Do I need a from to fill out from the embassy for my medical exam or could I just scedule an appointment now? How long does this take until I get my K-1 visa?

Can somebody please help me? The us embassy never picks up their phones and I really need to know!

Hallo!

If you look at the embassy information here it explains what happens.

If you have received the NOA2, then the petition is forwarded first to the NVC and then to the Embassy. The embassy will let you know when they're ready for you to send your documents. There is also information about the medical on that page I linked you to.

Do you also have your I-134 and supporting documents from your fiance? You will need him to send these to you for the interview.

Viel Glueck!

After approval you will be sent P3. The instructions for your country will be in P3 (link below).

Timelines depend on how long it takes for you to get your paperwork sent it, and how long in advance they book appointments.

Here is the K1 info page (starting from Step 3 where you are): http://germany.usembassy.gov/visa/iv/step3/

Down the bottom is a link to step 4.

Hope that helps.

They do. The best time and day is (or used to be) to call Tue and Thu between 2 pm and 4 pm. They are pretty helpful. Otherwise just e-mail them and they'll get back to you within 2-3 days http://germany.usembassy.gov/visa/iv/contact/

Get all the forms for the Packet3 ready so you send them out once you get the instructions.

You may already schedule your medical exam... there's also a walk-in physician in frankfurt though whom you can go to on the day of your interview.

By the by, you cannot just visit the embassy - especially not without an appointment...

More information on the website

good luck

I got my medical done in Berlin. It cost 150€, I needed 3 passport-style photo's (German-style allowed) and had to pay cash (although I think you could also transfer the money). Just call them and ask them. And make sure you take all your vaccination records (even childhood) with you.

officially it shouldn't take longer than 10 work days - with few exceptions (if everything is going according to plan, all required documents have been correctly assembled)

good luck
