My question wasn't so idiotic after all. After much thought on my part I realize we have 2 sets of pictures...one of each of us in the Blue Ridge mountains(exact same spot...just switched places basically) and one in front of the fountains at Chatsworth same deal..basically just swapped...that's the only way we gets pics done I'm afraid..making deals to swap places or on the sly(He actually stooped to taking one of me grabbing a nap on the couch with my twins...horrible horrible picture, but you can tell just looking I REALLY needed the rest). We also have some video footage of one of the moving type sculptures there with both our voices on tape..course that won't do us much good as they'd have to be willing to pop in a strange dvd.

Thingee, can you give us a list of the pieces of evidence you have? I think this would help us build a better picture and help you determine whether you have enough evidence.

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.

Evidence on hand: *boarding passes from Heathrow to Dulles flight and back(on his hands) dated March 9-20 2006 *copy of itinerary for airline tickets from Dulles to Heathrow and back dated for July 12-23 2006 *ATM slip from Bank of Scotland from London(the ink is really really faint on this) *Luggage tag from return flight July 23rd *Train ticket from Watford(where he actually lives) into London(my name isn't on this..have tickets from last years visit as well) *The before mentioned sets of pictures

There are other ticket stubs as well, but I assumed they wouldn't do any good as they are in his name alone (Jamie Cullum concert for my birthday present this year :D )

Most of that doesn't have your name so it's not worth anything. It has to prove BOTH of you were together. The boarding passes are the best bet.

I can appreciate that Mew.

My thought was that if they received an RFE, they would be no worse off than waiting. In fact, some processing would already be done. That is of course, if they get the darn backlog cleared!!! Cheers.

But if she sends out every piece of evidence she's got and gets an RFE, how will she be able to submit more evidence? Unless she's lucky enough to get the RFE after visiting her fiance.

How much time do you have to respond to a RFE?

12 weeks, I think.

It is a worthy gamble. I know that I could not wait 5-6 months to file...

But, as you and aselano suggested, if they list all of their existing evidence, a better evaluation could be conducted.

At the end of the day, I would not feel to good about suggesting that someone wait 5-6 months to file. You?

As much as I'd want to file right away, I guess my being ####### would make me worry to death. :)

The issue with filing now is that if you get an FRE, it will say that you need to show proof that you met between 7/31/2004 and 7/31/2006. Hence, not having pics now is going to be an issue. They might let you through w/o pics, but not likely.

More likely without pics then with pics if there is satisfactory primary evidence. Photos are secondary evidence. Evidence as a whole in creating the image in the minds eye of the adjudicator is what one has to aim for. If this includes photos or not will depend on the primary evidence. If one has pics, by all means they should be submitted. Photos are not the be all and end all. RFE's have been received by members stating 'photos do not show that one has met' and requesting other evidence to meet the requirement of having met.

I'm new at this myself, but I would think that photo copies of the passport stamps would help, as well as copies of credit / debit card statements for purchases and / or cash withdrawals in your area, and also I've heard that the receipt for, and the photo of you with an engagement ring can be a biggie. I'd put in my continuatin letter regarding how you met, that you're sorry that there are no photos of you actually together and explain why, (not knowing in advance that you'd need them). Try to chose some photos that an average person could look at and reasonably determine they were taken at roughly the same time. Take a photo of you and your son together, preferably him wearing the same cloths, so that they can see that 'quacamole kid' is your son.

I'd file the I-129f now and get the process started, if they request more evidence of an ongoing relationship before your next opportunity to do photos, have him write a long letter professing his love for, and send a photo of him kissing an 8x10 of you~!

but that's the interview. You have to prove ongoing relationship there. You would have already proven you'd met within 2 years prior to that (or else you'd have gotten an RFE for the proof before it being approved and forwarded to the consulate).

we took lots of photos when we first started dating...5 years ago! So I included a few copies of pics just to show us together. I hadn't kept much of anything, but thankfully leading up to filing we met a couple of times so I kept those boarding passes, including the one trip where we are seated next to one another. Everything else is kind of hobbled together, and the photos will likely be of little value.

When CSC gets around to giving me their decision in 6 or 7 months, I will let you know whether the lack of recent photos was a problem or not....

gupt,

Why not? Many people have had their petitions approved without providing photos.

Thingee,

How many ticket stubs - 1 or 2? Dated for the period when your other evidence shows that you were there?

Recognize that most all types of evidence that people commonly use is circumstantial, so the more the better. On their own these stubs are no more circumstantial than an airline boarding pass that shows nothing more than that you went to his country, but everything taken together begins to add up.

...There are other ticket stubs as well, but I assumed they wouldn't do any good as they are in his name alone (Jamie Cullum concert for my birthday present this year )

Hm..we have tickets for the Metro from a nearby station into DC proper(I don't drive in DC if I can help it) Tickets for the London underground for July '05 and '06. Blackpool tickets for '05. I just checked my online bank statement and my ATM withdrawal from London is showing up, complete with Train station where I made the withdrawal. He used his credit card while here, and I assume the statements could be gotten, and they would show the name of the town where I live wouldn't they? It's a very very uncommon town name...and a smallish town.

Pictures taken after filing would work great for the interview, but the problem is getting proof of having met prior to the filing.

Why is everyone going on and on and on about WHEN the photo evidence was taken?

I have been all the way through this process to approval....

TO FILE: All you have to do to file is prove that you have met and become engaged. Very little or no photo evidence is required for this.

FOR THE INTERVIEW: You need to prove it is a real, current and ongoing relationship. This is where the photo evidence matters, and it does not matter when the pics were taken - pre OR post filing!

Sheesh!
