The Clark County Clerks Office says, "It is suggested that non U.S. citizens check with your local officials for special documents that may be needed to ensure that your marriage will be recognized in your country."

The vegas wedding chapel we will get hitched at mentions something called an "Apostille" document that "is for Non-U.S. or Foreign citizens and is accepted as Las Vegas proof of Marriage by most countries and must be obtained after your Las Vegas Wedding Ceremony." Anyone ever heard of this Apostille documentation? It costs extra, so I dont want to pay for something if we dont need it.

Does anyone know if we need any additional documentation to have our marriage officially recognized in the Phils? Do we go register or something at the civil clerks office there on our next trip?

Thanks.

Get your marriage certificate authenticated from county clerk where you got married, and file a report of marriage to the Phil. Consulate in your area, and the Phil. Consulate will transmit the report of marriage at the NSO manila and DFA manila. check the Phil. Consulate in your area for the requirements.

You don't need the apostille to report your marriage at the Philippine Consulate. The certified copy from the clark county should be sufficient :)

Yes, I will not get the Apostille. I have a feeling if I asked the clerk, he would recommend that I buy 3.

I HATE getting gouged and people and places that gouge, gouge, gouge their prices!!!

:protest: :protest: DOWN WITH GOUGING :protest: :protest:

I ordered 3 copies immediately. Ha ha ha.

Anyway, I did not submit the original certified copy to the consulate. I submitted clear copies but was required to present the original documents (birth certificate, passports, MC). Call your local consulate ahead of time before you go there, just to be sure. It seems like different consulates have different requirements.

And be prepared to wait. They have certain "requirements" as well, but most of those can be "obtained" in the same building, or close by. It was just like being back in the Philippines again!
