Welcome aboard.

Some things to keep in mind.

1. At least in this particular debate, you're not debating with me, so treat me as a neutral here, probably even a friendly.

2. You'll learn, if you stick around, that many here have no use for wikipedia sources. A wiki ref is not going to convince your adversary. Try to get a .gov or .edu citation if possible.

3. CAPS LOCKS is considered bad form.

4. Your citizenship status has no bearing on your argument.

5. Saying "YOU LOSE" (in caps) is a good way to draw attention to the fact that you haven't made your point.

Good luck, welcome aboard, play nice, and I gratefully accept gratuitiesbribes.

I disagree with scandal's discount of Wikipedia. As long as there are foot notes and the facts contained are verifiable, I say go for it.

lol...

1. no probs, i didnt see you as the 'enemy'. LOL

2. well, folks can accept wiki or not...they do a little thing like cite their source. i went that route:

https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/th...r/2102rank.html

and things got worse for the u.s. going directly to the cia.gov page, the u.s. dropped to #49 (in all fairness, japan dropped from #1 to #3...all those suicide i guess?).

3. when i cap lock on certain words, phrases, that's designed to EMPHASIZE my point. i don't 'yell' with all my words.

4. by listing my citizenship status, i was letting charles know that i'm an american, not canadian, british or australian.

5. i said 'you lose' because he's said that to a couple of people; i was showing the IRONY of his own words. i KNOW i'm correct. : )

thanks for the welcome. i see you're from chicago. best damned city in the world. lol. born there and stayed until two years ago. reveneque can't stand chicago winters.

Most of the info I see on wiki lists their legitimate source. Wiki just makes it easy for us to read and cite, as others have done the homework for us.

Nah, he doesn't dig Victoria secret stuff. He likes me in plain cotton thongs. Sigh, my lingerie collection gone to waste.

Your citizenship is still irrelevant to your point. And you're not debating with Charles, you're debating with Gary. You'll know them apart soon enough.

I'm actually not from Chicago, I moved here recently. I'm from ravenesque's homeland - I was raised in Canada.

Chicago is a great town, though I have no doubt you'll soon be meeting another VJ member who will be happy to disabuse you of that notion, too.

These guys need to remember who won the international Pizza contest for 2009. Excluding murder capital, one of the most miserable etc, Chicago hasn't won an award in years. Just saying..

It's not a bad city by US standards but falls well short of being classified as world's best.
